Ten days in the woods of Georgia with dirty hair, sore feet, a full heart and raw community.  Training Camp is the final interview and last step before launch onto the field in January.  In just 18 days I’ll be boarding a plane from DTW —> ATL to see my team and get a glimpse of what next year will look like for us.

World Racers blog and share constantly, but there is almost no information about Training Camp.  Training Camp is like Fight Club.  Really.  The first rule of TC is don’t talk about TC, and the second rule is don’t talk about TC.

I’ll share with you what I know about Training Camp right now

  1. Only bucket showers.  That’s right, no real showers for ten days.  Oh and the water’s cold.
  2. Funky sleeping arrangements.  I’ve heard rumblings and rumors of sleeping in an airport-esque simulation and on a bus!
  3. Cultural training to learn the social norms for all the countries we’ll be in next year.
  4. Finally being able to meet and worship with the people that God has placed to walk through next year!

I’m over the moon excited to meet my team, the full group that will travel from country to country together, and my squad, the 6-7 people I’ll be in community with on the field.  The Race is getting more and more real every day with only 103 days until launch and the beginning of my 11-month journey!

I have been incredibly blessed by my friends, family and everyone God had used to support me financially, with  equipment, prayer, and love.  There are still ways to join in on this journey with me.

First, and most importantly, pray!  Though you are not physically going with me, I still need prayer warriors fighting alongside my team and me as we are pushed, stretched and cultivated in our walk with God.

I still need some things to be fully equipped for Training Camp and the Race.  I have a registry that I have been updated with equipment that I will use while on the field.  You can take a look here

I am 82% funded!! If you are led to donate, you can do so here. I have an upcoming fundraiser in November, I would love to have you there physically or in prayer! I’ll post more information about it soon.
