What has life in Moldova looked like for the last 11 days?
We live in a village called Pietropavloska and it’s beautifully peaceful. I’ve set up a hammock spot next to a cemetery and crop field surrounded by rolling hills. Karah and I went on a long walk the other day exploring the endless paths to nowhere. I saw butterflies galore, turkeys, haystacks, this lone horse that wore the shiniest brown coat, and spoke as much Russian as I know to our surrounding neighbors.

The Catholic Church is on the far right and our community home is next to it on the left.
The sun rises past a field behind us and the sun sets (as seen in the photo above) as I look out our front door.

I have ample amount of time to spend with Jesus.

We only have our team to speak fluent English with, so it’s grown us a lot closer. We cook every meal here at our house. Dinner talks sometimes last a couple hours. From goofing off to feedback to having deep conversations about the Lord, we are enjoying uninterrupted time together.

We’ve been cleaning most mornings either at the churches, our home, or at Padre Daniel’s home. Shout out to Mama Patton for teaching me well.

These are some of the women we have worked alongside while cleaning the church pews, floors, and blankets. To my heart’s delight, they invited us to join them for a picnic lunch under one of my favorite Eva trees.

At 2 p.m., the children come for Mass and we join with them. Then until 5 p.m. we play futbol, run around at the playground or if it is raining we get creative inside with coloring, singing or learning English phrases and songs.

We have three birthdays on our team this month! Karah’s 22nd birthday is today, Klarissa’s is on the 17th, and Katie’s is on the 19th. I am also super excited about celebrating Easter here.

This has already been a very stretching couple of weeks. Sometimes I feel like the days will never end. Sometimes I feel suffocated in the house on rainy, cold days. Sometimes I’m so happy to be less distracted than I was last month having endless access to the Internet. Sometimes I feel so far away from civilization or a normal conversation in English with a local. My prayer is that I would keep my focus on God and what He has in store for each day.
Whoever you are, I thank you for reading and being apart of my journey on the World Race. I couldn't be more thankful for the support and prayers. I'm super excited for what life in America will bring, but I'm constantly having to stay present where I am. Keep the prayers coming!
Love you all,
Tay
