Over the past three years, I have successfully finished my undergraduate degree in Social Work at Liberty University while also playing on the Women’s Basketball team. Had you asked me five years ago, I never would have thought I would be a college graduate, on a division 1 basketball team, and pursing a master’s degree in public health but the Lord has proven that He works despite our failures and fears. As proven by my life story thus far, God will open specific doors during each season of my life to accomplish His purposes.

It was three years ago that I walked into my college dorm, full of fears, anxiety, and dreams for my future. I was very unprepared for all the growth, trials, and joys that God had planned for me. It was two years ago that I accepted the call to move to Atlanta for the summer partnering with the North American Mission Board to live in biblical community and be the church in the city of Atlanta through living intentionally and spreading the gospel in actions cloaked in love. Last summer, I lay in my cabin as a camp counselor at Kids Across America, an urban sports camp, feeling overwhelmed, grateful, and reminded of how much God loves me.

Every one of these experiences have pulled back the walls of my heart and prepared me in various ways to be willing to accept the Lord’s leading to go on The World Race. The World Race, not at all affiliated with the Amazing Race J, is a program of Adventures in Missions (AIM). AIM is a journey to 11 countries in 11 months to “serve the least of these” while living amongst raw, personal, and real community. In June 2019, I hope to be traveling to Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Morocco, Ethiopia, Djibouti, India, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, and Indonesia. In these countries my team and I will be partnering with AIM missionaries, churches, and ministries in local communities by helping with church plants, teaching English in schools, working in orphanages, feeding the hungry, ministering to women and children who have been affected by human trafficking, and numerous other ministry opportunities. I am excited about this opportunity because I yearn to be able to serve the church globally and experience the richness of the Gospel in other cultural contexts.

With that being said, there are a few ways that you could help. First, and most importantly, my squad and I need and appreciate your prayers! Traveling to 11 countries will be a stretching experience for all us. Please pray for our health- physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual; and that we would be open to letting God use and change us however He sees fit. Secondly, I will be in need of financial support. Like most other mission’s organizations, The World Race participants are required to raise their financial support. With a grand total of $19,200 to be raised, I can only trust that God will open this door if He wants me to walk through it. I ask that you prayerfully consider partnering with me.
