Hey everyone!!! Life has been both crazy and amazing lately! Ever since I joined the World Race my life has become a challenge. It can be a hard challenge but more so a challenge that is allowing me to grow within myself in ways I never imagined. When I first signed up for the World Race I knew it would be a lot of work and it would push me out of my comfort zone but I didn’t fully comprehend what that would look like. I’ve heard many stories about fundraising and the different types of things people did, but until this weekend I truly had no idea how that would impact me. Fundraising has intimidated me since the beginning because its something I have never been comfortable doing. Asking for money… UGH!!!

SOOOOO….

this weekend I tackled my first fundraising event!!!! I sold donuts out on the street. I was so insanely nervous at the start that I didn’t want to leave the parking lot. I had never put myself out there this much and I wasn’t sure how I was going to keep it up enough to sell all my donuts (100 dozen). I nervously took the first steps with my friend at my side. Before long my nerves started fading and I was able to understand why I was doing this. One thing I found incredible was that people were more generous then I thought…I know that sounds harsh…but in our society I thought most would think it was a scam or would rather ignore me because it would take a couple seconds out of their day,  but that didn’t happen. I soon realized that people wanted to support me and the donuts were the excuse to talk about the mission. I had people who would pass me and then turn around just because they were inspired to help out! That made my heart so full! The thing that shocked me the most was that a lot of the people donating were not in the super fancy cars but those in the every day, slightly worn down cars that would. I had people wanting to talk to me about what I was doing because they were generally interested or because they had seen the impact of mission work through others. It felt really good to have so many people that I didn’t know become so interested in something that is so close to my heart!

This whole fundraising experience left me with an open mind and full of excitement! I am so ready to tackle my next event now that I am practically a pro!!! (I’m definitely kidding) Ok, so being real for a moment, I am super pumped to see what the Lord has in store for me. I cant wait to learn more about how this journey will change my life and the lives of others around me too. Its truly given me the opportunity I’ve always asked for and I couldn’t be more grateful! I have a long way to go and many more donuts to sell, but I am growing more and more confident that I can do this. I am so appreciative of everyone’s support thus far along the way and being able to share in my new adventure. Thank you,  I’m thrilled to share this experience with y’all!!!!
