Today there are approximately 27 million slaves around the world.

Nearly half of them are under the age of Eighteen.

80% Involve Sexual Exploitation.

Every two minutes a child is being prepared for Sexual Exploitation.

I have been learning so much about the Sex Trafficking Industry as I’ve been on the World Race and each story has made me more and more passionate about saving these poor woman and children. Here is a few stories and some research to tell you a little about the Sex Trafficking Industries here in South East Asia & Central Asia

This is a story told by the founder of New Light Nepal Ministries (an anti-trafficking Organization) Bhuvan-Sunira Devkota, who is also my contact here in Nepal.

“You must drink a cola in our home,” Gharwali (a lady owner of a brothel) insisted, as a friend and I were passing through one of the Red Light Districts of Mumbai, India in November 2010. We saw in her house there were 6 ladies waiting for the customers. I was with my friend James (a missionary from our church back in Nepal). She ordered three cups of cola for us. We started to talk. Slowly, Gharwali began her story. She was sold by her own grandfather while she was 12. She refused to sleep with a man and in return received the gift of being beaten and raped. She began to have sex in order to save her life. After some years, she started her own business of buying and using girls as sex slaves. She also shared that after some years in business she decided she wanted to go back to her village. When she went to her village in Baglung (western Nepal) her father rejected her and she had to come back Mumbai, along with some girls to use for sex slavery. We prayed for their health and Lord’s wisdom to repent and went ahead. As we were walking in the street we saw many girls from the age 12 to 60 waiting for customers. Their faces covered in cheap make-up as if it could cover their pain. Some even had children at their  side. Anybody can imagine what happens to those small children when they see with their own eyes their mother sleeping with and being beaten by different men every hour. We passed that street and went down another. Same situation was there. Some girls were pulling some men’s’ hands to come as their costumer because if they do not find anybody, they and their children do not have anything to eat in evening as well as a beating and cursing from their Gharwali. We met a woman who had about half of a kilogram of gold as her ornaments. She gave a bench for us to sit. We started to talk and found out that she is one of the richest Gharwali of Mumbai and has a big numbers of girls. Her daily income from girls is about $ 1000 USD. She said she had originally started an anti trafficking organization for the rights of sex slaves, but when the business wasn’t good, she began to own her own girls and sell them for sex. It was then I began to cry in my heart, but could not say anything about it (as we were told- saying anything against them is to be killed.) These Nepali Gharwalis are the main traders of girls. They are protected by local authorities and gangs with the power of money. We also prayed there and proceeded. In the night I was crying with tears with our missionary James and his wife Selvi. They shared more heart-breaking stories and facts. During 2010 we baptized ten ladies from churches of west Nepal had been sold by their own husbands, brothers, and even pastors. Some of those women became Christian to only be persecuted by their Hindu families to follow somebody for a better life. Someone whom they trusted and loved, someone who led and sold them into the sex trade in Mumbai. In 2004 Selvi (James wife) was asked to go to a home to pray for one of the girls who was running a high fever. She began to pray but an eager customer came and demanded attention from the girl who was sick. The girl fell at Selvi’s feet and cried out for a prayer of healing. But the customers desire was more important than her prayers. That girl was to sick to and could not do as customer pleased. So the angry customer punched her in her head and left. Selvi tried to revive her but was not successful. She died. Recently two girls were brutally killed because they refused to perform sex. Unfortunately the law there does not work. Murder of children and women is completely normal in this area. So many girls are raped, tying their hands and legs to pillars, some even beaten till death, and some get burned from hot irons on or between their thighs or lower belly before starting their “business” because new comers(new girls) do not want to have sex. About 300,000 Nepali girls are still in Mumbai and many have settled to Pune and other towns of India because of Indian Government law. Price of Nepali girls has gone high because importing girls is going down. I believe It’s because of awareness in so many places, and the help of the Bombay Teen Challenge prayer walking and fasting prayers in these areas; that some of these women remain protected. Nepal Police are now proposing Nepali government start a Red Light District Area in Kathmandu. Nepal Police report says more than 35,000 girls are in sex slavery only in Kathmandu And more than 90% of them are from age 12 to 17 years old. In other cities of Nepal, this God-hating business is growing.

“Lord, hear our prayers and send freedom for them.”

This is what Satan has done with our world. Please help by joining us in fervent prayer that God will soon destroy this Industry. The New Light Nepal organization here in Kathmandu target the young girls who have not been reached by the traffickers, but have a lot of trafficking in their area. The young naïve and innocent girls and their parents believe the men that come and promise by selling their children they will get a better life and their children will be taken care of. New Light Nepal’s goal is to reach those family and shed extreme light on what’s going on and how to avoid it. After these men take their children they store the girls in a small local business to work, while they pump the girls with hormones for about 2-4 months straight. They then sell and send them off to work. Girls as young as 8 to 15 years old. They send one lump sum check to the family and then sell the girls to different towns, countries, cities and men. The young girls will never see their family again and their parents will never hear from them again. Any questions about their child’s where abouts will be answered with an “I don’t know where they are, they’ve become independent and moved away. I don’t know where they have gone.”

Forced to have sex with men from all corners of the world, abused and used, forced to abort every child that grows within their womb, living with aids and all other diseases due to their business. What makes it worse is that when or if these girls ever find freedom or runaway, they return to their villages where they are excommunicated due to the rules of their Religion. So these girls go back to all they know how to do in order to survive. Only to be Gone and Lost forever. These girls have no one to love them.
