Hey friends and family!!!

I'm here! In Costa Rica! We are so spoiled this month we are living in a group home in Alajuelita (the ghetto of Costa Rica) but it's such a nice group home.. with showers, toilets, hot & cold water, washer & dryer food and wifi!!!! but the wifi is always being used so I have to plan my blogging wisely! haha anyway it's been an amazing two days so far and I have had a blast with my team and the other teams that are here aswell. Our contact and his team have asked us this week to be involved in all the ministries and then then to pray to see where the Lord is calling our team. I have to say I had so much Fun with the kids today we played futbol, ran around, danced & laughed. Every time I see a kid I just want to hold them and kiss them! They are so precious! The way the giggle or smile or yell "OYE! GRINGOS!" everytime we are walking somewhere. It's so amazing to me how much love these kids need and crave, and I think it's awesome I get to be here to show them what God's love looks like!

Today before we played with the kids one of our contacts named Whitley, took us by this place where she said a big sewage pipe had expolded every causing families to be thrown out of there homes and on the streets, she said there was only one family who lived there still…As she took us down the hill I got a glimpse of how horrible their living situations were. Wanting to cry I put my sun glasses on and kept walking. I then felt a rock hit my leg… it was chiquito! I wasn't able to get his name but my friend MK Hill was able to capture a picture of his precious little face. I remember saying "Hey!" and then turning around and thinking " awh I wanna pinch your cheeks even though you tried throwing a rock at me!" anyway we all kept walking to the bottom of the hill where we could see the destruction. It was such a horrible thing… We decided we would pray for the people who lost their homes, the family that still lived there, and the places the families would end up… the two little boys actually stood in our circle while we prayed(I thought that was awesome) and after we left we began playing with the boys and  then began my heart breaking moment when I saw their eyes light up… just by us running and playing with them, chasing them…. Like everyone they too want to know someone is chasing them, that someone wants them, that someone loves them… God is doing amazing things here! keep praying for the tiko's and tika's here in Alajuelita.
