Meet Drea. Drea is a girl with Adventures that we have had the extreme pleasure of walking along side of here. She has currently been living in India for a year and 9 months. 5 years ago the Lord gave a vission to Drea. He showed her a picture of her digging wells overseas and handing out water filters. After the picture she grew very thirsty and felt called to bring physical and spiritual water to people in the world. The very next day she switched her major in school from Pre-Med and Biological Science to Water Quality and Translocation Systems under Environmental Sciences.
2 years of school became completed and then she went on the World Race. She found herself in India by month 5. By week 3, she was ready to be out of there. She was sick the whole time, it was hot, and her heart just was not in the ministry. The next morning when she woke up she realized that God had made a drastic change in her heart about the country. So drastic that it could not have been for just that last week. By month 8 of her race she commited to coming back to India. After month 11 and coming back to America she spent a couple of months fundraising and flew back to Asia.
Since then she has established relationships, a home, and a few location options for wells. When it came time for money for the wells to be fundraised, the Lord provided. This week we got to witness the fruit of all this. Here is the location of the well before the work began!

We traveled to the location the new well would be planted. Which happened to be next to a new church that was being built. Double awesome! Drea prayed for an abundance of water to be hit. Honestly, they were unsure if water would be hit at all in that area or within the depth the money could afford. There is another well on the other side of that house that has to be pumped nearly 30 times before anything will even come out, but God is faithful. The men came in carrying and assembling the drill by hand until it was ready.

The most ginormous renches ever!

All together now….

Did I mention they did it all barefooted?….
Cool! They cranked her up and broke the ground. Pound after pound that thing drilled deeper. We noticed being in our little corner under the porch was not the best idea when the dirt cloud rolled in so thick that we were unable see to even get out for the first 15 minutes. You live and you learn, right?

Once we got to other side of the drilling all we could do was watch, plug our ears and wait in the sun. Easy enough.

Especially for Luke….

The cool thing about a successful well here would mean that whenever anyone wanted water they would come to the church to draw it. Hindus and Christians alike. It brings me to Revelation 7:17.
“For the Lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
This well is the Lord’s well. And while it would provide physical water, we also pray that it would provide spiritual water for the people who come to draw from it. That they would run into the Christians at the church and a conversation about Jesus would surface.
So did they actually even break water?

Yes! An abundance of it at that! It only took 50 feet of drilling to hit it. That means that there is enough money left over to plant another well elsewhere! It was a great example of God multiplying provision!
God is happy, Drea is happy, the village is happy and puns are plentiful. That went well. Well, that was deep. This village is well off now. Well well well, what do we have here? I’d say that was a job well done. Well-come to our well. Water you doing here?…… Okay, I’ll spare you the rest. Well done everyone!
