The countdown continues. In 16 days I will leave my hometown until next June. What I do know is that I am going to India, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. I am going to serve the people of those countries in the name of Jesus. Other than that, I have no idea what I am doing.
There was no itinerary for these countries when I applied for this, and there still isn’t. My team will be notified of detailed locations and ministry points a couple weeks before we enter each country. Though I am not allowed to put it on the internet yet, I can tell you that I found out my ministry point in India just last week!
While some people struggled to come to terms with supporting my “blind trip” around the world, I was walking through a time of growing in blind faith. There came a moment when I had to realize that it doesn’t matter that I have no idea what ministry I will be doing in each place. Also, it is perfectly fine that I have no idea where I will be in each country yet. The Lord has gone before my team and I and set our paths. Whatever we will be doing will be for Him.
Above, you will see a picture of me taken during my stay in Nepal a few years ago. I ended up getting put in a ministry spot where I had to teach English in a classroom by myself…. without a translator and without much notice to make any lesson plan. It was extremely challenging and frustrating for me. Teaching English immediately became my least favorite thing to do. By the end of those couple of weeks, God had taught me that even if I am having a hard time in missons, it is still where I am supposed to be.
By the end of that time I had several circumstances in which I was able to pray over individual Hindu children and give them hugs. If all of that frustration and lack of translators in an awkward teaching situation was solely to open the door for those prayers and hugs, I am okay with that. I would teach English a hundred times over to open those doors again.
My point is that God’s plan is better than good enough. Whether you know what it is or your next 11 months around the world is a blind walk. You don’t need to know all of the steps. If you have even just 1 from Him, then take it. The rest is sure to be amazing! I am so excited to have no idea what I am doing. If you would like to help me with my final $2,767 for this trip you can donate above! Thanks to all…
