As the days near, so does my teams excitement to reunite again! Jenny, Miles, Cameron, Nick, Rocio and I are on the edge of our seat getting ready for the World Race 09 to launch in the DR. We continue to grow closer as a team, build tighter bonds with each other, hear each others hurts and joys and look forward to spending 11 months together fulfilling the will of God.
I know that there are challenges ahead of us, fun times, trying times, wonderful times, times where we won’t get enough of each other and times where November 2009 could not t come sooner, but in the midst of all that our team has committed to Koinonia.
Koinonia is a greek word and the primary meaning of it is fellowship. We as a team have commited to this Christian fellowship. It is a key aspect of the Christian life and we as believers in Christ will come together in LOVE, FAITH and ENCOURAGEMENT. That is the essence of Koinonia and that is what our team is about!
“If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.” (Phil 2:1-2)
We all come from different walks of life, we all express our joy and sorrow in different ways , we all look different and we all have different personalities. But in the midst of all that we have one thing that brings us together, one thing that remains the same in all of us…our love for CHRIST! Koinonia is being in agreement with one another, being united in one purpose and serving alongside each other. Our Koinonia with each other is based on our common Koinonia with JESUS CHRIST! HE is what we will build our lives around and He is the one we will serve above all!
I look forward to serving alongside this team of amazing people as well as an amazing squad, but I am currently about $10,000 short of being able to embark on this journey with them. I know that $10,000 in one month seems crazy, but with a mighty God that we serve, nothing is impossible! Please prayerfully seek supporting me as I go out to nations sharing the LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!
