As I read my daily devotional today I couldn’t help but
share it! So here it is through my eyes.

“You shall not go out with hast,…for the LORD will go before
you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.” (Isiah 52:12)  So many of us, me included, continue to
spend the celebration of the New Year looking so far ahead to what 2009 has in
store and scanning the list of crap 2008 gave us.  Encouraged by this devotional, I want to encourage you as
well.  Yes, we have sinned and tripped
in the past 365 days, but let’s not dread the thought of it, let’s learn from
it, embrace it and most of all, move full steam ahead in the NOW!  When we get lost in 2008’s regrets, we
miss the moment, the moment that God has given us now.  I encourage you to take this moment in,
praise God for what He wants to do and is doing in your life right here.

I woke up this morning to leave for the airport again
because my flight was canceled last night, but I went about today
differently.  I went about it resting
in the now, resting in what God had planned for me today, not what He has
planned for tomorrow or in two months from now.  As my day went on I met a nice man named Moses who was
interested in The World Race and gave him my card, I moved to the isle seat
instead of a window for a couple and I held back in line to help others.  I share this NOT for praise, but in
hopes to spread life to others.

Nothing I did today was of great significance in my eyes,
but I also don’t know what God was up to behind the scenes of it all. I know
that God’s ways a grander and better than mine so I’m resting in what He is
doing now, resting in the fact that He is furthering His kingdom through me
today.  It is nothing that I will
do, but everything that He will do!

Today I actually saw God working instead of running so fast
and missing what He was doing.  I
don’t believe that I will ever get in the way of God’s plans, but I do believe
I can personally miss seeing with my own eyes how cool it is.  Through these normal everyday events I
saw a glimpse of what God was dong and not what Taryn was desiring.  (FYI…what God is doing is always way
better!!!!!)  I felt the Lord
reveal Matthew 25:21 to me, He is showing me how to see Him in my infant eyes
before I see Him in my toddler eyes.   “…You have been faithful with a few things: I will put
you in charge of many things.”

In summary of what God has reveled today I know I must leave
my past in His hands knowing that He will take the darkness of before and
transform it into light today and tomorrow.  I can rest in knowing He has gone before me to protect me
from stumbling in the same ways, and has opened my eyes to the delight of the
moment.  I am here and now for Gods
glory and in that I will give thanks!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my friends, family and
supporters.  I love you all and
praise God your in my life today!
