The number one thing I’ve learned from my travels and experiences, so far, is that we all want the same fundamental thing- to love and be loved. We may have different languages, skin colors, customs- but we all need and want to be loved. I truly believe that love stems from our creation by God and his never-ending, powerful love for us. This is the love story that spans all of time- and I want to live out this story to people around the world who are desperate for love. This is not to sound fluffy and imaginary, but to live and work alongside people who are trying their best to make life work. There is no doubt that it is a little scary to think about leaving people I love, my home, and my happy life to go live with one backpack full of belongings to face the hardest work I’ve ever encountered. But I think it is more terrifying to live in a world where we cannot take full advantage of opportunities to help each other through love and kindness.
