So, remember how excited I was last week when I shared about how our team ALREADY (I’m talking within a few hours) had our first ministry contact meeting set for the next day? Yea! Well do you want to know how that meeting went? I’ll use a direct quote:

“Any weekend you are in San Salvador, you can stay at this home free of charge.”

We could have dropped our jaws on the floor if it was physically possible at the moment Bob opened that invitation. As you know, this month is ambiguous- but on a budget. And the cheapest hostel we could find was still over our budget, so this man’s open doors are a huge blessing! And there’s a kitchen to cook in, laundry facilities, and KIDS! This feels crazy for me to say, but I was really missing spending time with kids and this was an answer to my personal prayer to fill that little joy bubble.

But wait… there’s more!

Bob is also the Mission’s director of an English speaking church in the city and a key connection point to reach all the ministries within the congregation. Can you say “jackpot!” He invited us to attend with him (free ride!) and also speak to the congregation about what we are doing this month so that we can dive into a pool of contacts within the country. I tell you what, all of this was way more than we were ever expecting at our very first meeting in the country- but the Lord laid the path before us and we came ready and willing to follow.

And this week we have set up meetings every day with people who are serving in the country- and they are also handing us more phone numbers and names of people we “need to meet.” (Here’s that wildfire I was talking about.) When you drive into a new country with no plan but the Lord’s plan, amazing things will happen. We’ve also been generously blessed with meals, offers of places to stay if needed, and phone numbers to call if we ever need more help while we are here.

 It’s only just begun.

The most exciting part of seeing our contact list grow every day, is that each new row added to that excel sheet is another person serving the Lord, expanding the Kingdom, sharing His love, giving families a new future, and saying “YES” to the call God has placed on their hearts. Inspiring.

How can you say “yes” to the Lord today? I dare you to ask Him.

Quick Fundraising Update:

Through the support so far, I have received $11,330. Sure, when I signed up for this year of service, adventure, exploration, and working for the Lord, I thought it *might* be possible to receive the money. But I’d be lying if I said I really believed it with my whole being without an ounce of doubt. To be at the point I am is already astounding, but I know that the Lord lavishes in the ways he can love us and make our desires to serve a reality. I need to reach $16,254 (that means just $4,924 left) to be completely covered for this year of serving the nations. Maybe you can’t give, but maybe you are great at baking, or playing cards, or have a lot of friends, and can help raise the final money needed. If you have ideas or need more information on how to give, I’d love to hear from you by email! Send anything (even funny jokes or encouragements) to [email protected]
