We are in San Juan living the most unexpected life!!

First of all, we are living in a four bedroom house with 46 people. Yay. If you want to experience community like they did in Acts, do this. Singing, dance partying it up, eating, buying water, getting annoyed, praying, cleaning, pooping, sweating, napping in hammocks, raining, dogs barking, getting woken up, listening, learning, crying, laughing, and learning to have patience. It is seriously crazy!!! Pray for us!! Community is so important in this life though!! Help each other out and make each other better.

Also, we have been working in the slums of San Juan. It is about a 40 minute walk to Quija Quieta.

God has used us to encourage the believers, grow the children in the Lord, feed people who need it, pray for healing, share God’s love with people, and just build relationships. It has been an incredible journey. My heart feels so connected to this place. This neighborhood is very “tranquila” and shows how I believe we should live life. When one person needs food, the other people provide, because they know the next time they may need something. Each child here is so special and hungry for love. By God’s grace, I have been translating. We have been doing house visits and have been able to share so much love and bring so much light to this dark place. It has been an honor to be out serving God in another country.

This is Quija Quieta. Whether it be singing, praying, or feeding the hungry. God is leading us.

The other groups have been ministering in other slums that surround San Juan. Some are digging
trenches while others are planting and working in the fields. We are covering this city with
God’s love and trying to cease every opportunity we have. Not only are we all serving in different
surrounding areas, we are spreading love to the neighborhood we live in. Whether it be playing
basketball with the kids, sharing God with the people in the bars and hotels, or just spending

time with people in the neighborhood, God is using us. God is love. We belong to God.

Basically, I am challenging you to three things.
(1)Step up in your house. Prefer others above yourself. Serve others. Swallow your pride. Clean someone else’s mess. Leave an encouraging note for someone. Don’t complain. Say thank you.
“Don’t be selfish; dont try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than
yourselves. DOn’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others too.

-Philippians 2:3-4
(this is Solanda, our head contact, her and i share a soul)

(2)Step up in your community. Walk next door and talk to your neighbors. Help in your church.
MAke cookies for someone. Observe what people need and get it for them. Listen.
“Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. Never be
lazy but work hard and serve the Lord enthusiastically. Rejoice in hope. Be patient in trouble,
keep on praying. When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to

practice hospitality.-Romans 12:10-13

(3) Reach beyond your comfort zone. Go feed the poor. Don’t eat lunch instead, give it to someone
who needs a meal. Do a prayer walk. Spend 15 minutes with God thanking Him rather than asking
for things. Instead of going to a movie, talk to your friends about stuff that matters.
“SHare your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those

who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help- Isaiah 58:7

Thanks for being a part of this journey!!! I love you all!! Thanks for the comments.
