Share your Saturdays
I want to encourage you all to do something different with your Saturdays. It can take five seconds or the entire day. I want to encourage you to SHARE YOUR SATURDAYS. This Saturday, I challenge you to share something. TIME. MONEY. YOUR STORY. WHATEVER. Share a little bit of you with someone else.
There are tons of opportunities and needs where you are at. Ideas:
Share your Time by:
feeding the homeless
spending time with someone who is alone
helping someone clean their house
Share your Money by:
buying groceries and giving it to people
donating to my world race account (I still need $2,300)
giving to those in need as you see the need
Share your story:
talk to strangers about your life
share a story of the past week and let someone share theirs
I have been learning a lot about treasuring God more than anything. Letting go of a lot of the things I value. Treasuring God and not the temporary things. Where is my heart? Am I willing to let go of these earthly possessions to truly treasure God?
When Jesus was talking to the disciples, He was showing them not to worry about earthly things, but to trust God and seek Him first. He said,
“Sell your possessions and give to those in need. This will store up treasure for you in Heaven! And the purses of Heaven never get old or develop holes. Your treasure will be safe; no thief can steal it and no moth can destroy it. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.”
Luke 12:33-34
Whatever you do each Saturday, I challenge you to share it.
Share your Saturday with someone who needs it.
Let go of what you want so someone else can have it.
God will show you who, what ,and when. Just be open!!
