“Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.” Colossians 4:2
What a blessing it is that God heals each of us differently. The way that He is healing my body bit by bit, we’ve been able to notice and praise God for each little miracle.
It has been incredible that the AIM/ World Race Staff has set up a Night of Prayer for me. It is scheduled for tonight at 7:00 p.m. and they are asking everyone to pray! Praises and requests to direct your prayers are listed below.
PRAISES/BLESSINGS
1. I’M ALIVE:
Praise God that I did not have head injuries, that I was not paralyzed or even killed by the fall. God still has plans for me and wants His daughter to rest in His arms!!
2. PROVIDING FAMILY TO COME TO ME:
God provided $2400.00 in less than 24 hours for my mom and her friend to fly to Romania to be with me – through my church and generosity of some friends who offered money or flight miles the minute they saw our prayer request on FACEBOOK.
3. COMMUNITY:
DAN AND BECKY: God showed my team members, Dan and Becky, that they should be the ones to stay with me here in Romania, instead of going on to Turkey with the rest of the squad. They have been sacrificial in taking care of me and helping to meet my needs.
MOM AND NANCY: They were able to fly out within 24 hours of hearing the news. Nancy is my mom’s friend, who felt the Lord telling her to go with my mom, so she wouldn’t have to be alone. Mommy’s here!
It’s been an incredible experience to have them serve me. This “family” has been able to pray with authority together, sing praises, read the Bible, and even laugh together. One time when we were singing Dan shared a vision of us singing and praising God so powerfully that the nurse would come in to quiet us down. Minutes later, a knock at our door produced a concerned nurse who asked us to turn the music down!
NANCY‘S ROMANIAN FAMILY: My mom’s friend, Nancy just happened to have a brother living here with his Romanian wife, and a sister-in-law, a nurse. These friends met my mom at the airport, brought them immediately to the hospital, and then stayed for the evening. Alice, the nurse (sister-in-law), spoke with the nurses at the hospital in Romanian, looked at the x-rays and was able to fill my mom in on details. They have been available to us during this time.
BLUE EYE SHADOW NURSE: Not only was she the nice nurse at Hospital Floreasca, she would come in and check on me. She took my mom by hand around the hospital and helped her check out, pay the bill and get receipts. She kept saying, “come with me, Mama. I take care of you.”
GABBY: When my mom arrived in Romania on Monday night, she took one look around the hospital and began planning to move me to another hospital. We were not familiar with the health care here, but God had given us a contact before we even knew we needed this. A friend from my home church, Oasis Community Church, had given us the name of Gabby who has contacts all over Romania. Gabby called almost as soon as my mom arrived. Gabby gave us the name of Roxanne who is a representative of a well respected private hospital, used by Americans, the Euro Clinic. The next morning (Tuesday) Mom and Dan went to go look for Roxanne and the Clinic, when suddenly a woman in a business suit entered my room. God had delivered Roxanne to our door step! She brought mom to the Euro Clinic and arranged for the Doctors from both hospitals to meet and talk about Tara’s condition. She walked us through the process, talking to administration in both hospitals, and helping mom with the insurance. At the same time this was going on, Becky was talking to the American Embassy who also recommended Euro Clinic!
5. THE TRANSFER TO EURO CLINIC
On Tuesday, I was wheeled down the hallways and suddenly it became brighter. I had entered the Euro Clinic (there is actually a walkway between the two hospitals) I was greeted by three beautiful nurses in lavender with smiling faces who took me to my new room. I could see the beautiful sky from my window, and had my own private bathroom complete with toilet paper, soap and towels (not that I can use it – I am flat in bed). I immediately was introduced to my three doctors: Othopedic Surgeon, General Surgeon and Doctor of Internal Medicine who talked with my mom and me. This is one of the best hospitals I have seen (in US or outside) with caring/compassionate nurses, attentive doctors, wireless internet, sparkling clean facilities, and gourmet food.

6. THE ANGEL OF EURO
Another “divinely appointed angel”, Catalin is the CEO of the Euro Clinic and is a fellow Christian. He came in to meet us and make sure everything is ok. Catalin lived in the United States and actually directed a family services program at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale there for several years. He still has a home in Surprise, Arizona (within an hour of my family home in Phoenix) and goes there every year to visit family. He has arranged for me to be moved from a smaller room, to a larger room with a bed for my mom, and room for my “family” to be with me. He checks on me every day. We also discovered he has started sending two meals into my room at a time (so my mom can share the gourmet food with me). He has even offered to take my mom and Nancy to church with him on Sunday! He has been such a help and blessing from God!
7. THE $800 MIRACLE
Mom had to pay the bill from Floreasca Hospital before I could be moved, so she went to the bank and got $813.00. She then called my dad to tell him and ask him what to do because we didn’t have $800.00 for this bill. He couldn’t believe it! That very day, there was a check for $850.00 on his desk at church. It seemed that although they didn’t take an offering for Tara at church on Sunday (before my mom even left for Romania), people came forward after they heard about Tara and wanted to give money. The result – our $800 miracle.
8. PRAYING THE FLUID OUT
On Tuesday, the Doctor gave me an Ultrasound and found fluid in my lungs, spleen, and stomach, as well as some internal bleeding. My mom sent out requests for prayer. On Thursday, the Ultrasound showed that the fluid in the lungs and spleen had been prayed out and was no longer there, and there was less internal bleeding.
9. PHYSICAL THERAPY
I started Physical Therapy yesterday, to keep movement in my body while I am on my back. The Physical therapist, Ciprian, was surprised at my range of motion and leg strength!
10. NIGHT TIME WITH JESUS
One night when I was alone with God, He taught me about PEACE. He truly showed me that peace does not come from a nice hospital room, the fact that my mother is here, or painlessness, but it comes from GOD. The whole night I spent thanking Him and praising Him. God finally settled my heart with a deep trust in HIM. No longer will I come to Him with what I want to happen, because I trust that He is taking me down the best pathway. “The Lord says I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” Psalm 32:8
11. LITTLE MIRACLES
I can see God working in the hearts of the nurses and doctors. The other night, Adriana, came in to put some pain medication in my IV. God seemed to make the process take about 10 minutes longer than usual. In that time, she was able to hear Romanian Christian music on my Ipod and be prayed for.
12. TEARS OF THANKFULNESS
One day while reading my blog and Facebook comments, I was moved to tears. I couldn’t believe how much God was covering me in prayer and using His people to encourage me. Thank you all so much for your faithfulness!
