My new family: TEAM SOL

1) SOL means “sun” in Spanish. Our team is called to share God’s kingdom: to bring light to the darkness.  “Free those who are imprisoned; lighten the burden of those who work for you; let the oppressed go free, and remove the chains that bind people. Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help. Then your salvation will come like the DAWN, and your wounds will quickly heal. Your godliness will lead you forward, and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind.” -Isaiah 58:6-8. Amen.

 

2) Servants. We are called to be servants and serve each other and those around the world. Whatever that looks like. Jesus gave us an example. “So Jesus got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him.” -John 13:4-5

 

3) Serve in Love. We are called to use our freedom to honor others, not do whatever we want. “For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.” -Galatians 5:13
