Family: We have a wonderful family as a team here and we have marcos and ana who cook homemade guatemalan food every day. i love them. they are my guatemalan parents. i spent a couple afternoons cooking with ana in the kitchen.they have made us wonderful plantains, black beans, oatmeal, tortillas, fresh fruit and juice everyday and amazing moutain grown coffee and more. it is so great to have a family here to go on adventures with
Sickness: Pretty much our whole team was sick. we are all pretty much better. i visited the bathroom more times than i ever thought possible. it was beautiful because i got to spend alone time with God. i truly learned to be still and know that he is God. i spent time watching the rain and reading the word. sickness was a disguise for me to learn how to trust God and rest in him
Ministry: We have been blessed to be able to serve God in many ways. We have planted thousands of coffee beans, done construction on a medical clinic, painted a house and gave school supplies to mountain schools, did street evangelism, hung out with the kids, cleaned a hospital for malnourished kids, did vbs in a mountain village, preached and did dramas and testimonies in church, sang at a street church, pachaged and handed out food, soap, and other supplies to hundreds of families through the embrace program (google it for more info), prayed for the sick, children’s ministry, and just spent time building relationships with the missionaries and people of the town.
Adventure: we have hiked the mountain, ran through the jungle, jumped off balconies into the lake (im alive mom :)), ate street tacos, ate street mangos (i love mangos, not amoebas), went across a cable bridge with tons of missing boards over a raging river, went to the mayan ruins called COPAn in honduras, chilling in the hammocks, rode standing up in the back of a truck, adventured on an island. pretty much the fact that we are living in guatemala with strangers is an adventure in itself!!!
God: I have had so much fun here, but the best part is getting to know myself better by seeing who I am in christ. just spending time with God whether it be singing, praying, reading, journaling, dancing, or sitting in silence. i love just being with God. He is teaching me I don’t have to always be serving and “doing”. He just wants me to “be” My identity is in Him. I am His daughter and that is the best thing about me. there is nothing i can do (or not do) to take that away.Every time i spend time with God, i am able to love others more. I am also able to trust the circumstances and people around me more cuz i know God is in control. Life is about pursuing God’s heart. Nothing else matters. Love God. Love People. The rest will work out
Prayers: Please pray for the hearts of the people here, “Embrace” the ministry, Marcos and Ana, Heather’s family, the health of our team, and my heart. Please pray for the hearts of the nicaraguans as we head there next.

I love you all. Remember that God is crazy about you. You are loved. You are chosen. You are His child. Be with God
