Well, most of you are probably wondering what the heck has happened since my last blog post about my struggle and desire for community.  So I broke down and shared my frustrations and expectations with our team and we talked through this thing called “community and the Acts 2 church.”  Through this discussion we learned more about each of our inner struggles and set some great goals to help us attain unity within our team.

My favorite goal that we set is to eat dinner together as a family.  (sidenote:  I believe all families should make this a priority)  Even before setting this as a team goal Josh had this wonderful idea to surprise everyone with pancakes for breakfast.  Josh and I got up really early and made Oreo Pancakes with butter and syrup, yum!  They were delicious and tired faces turned into happy smiles in no time.  We sat around the table and enjoyed each other’s company.  This time of fellowship allowed for one of our teammates to pour themselves out in brokenness and share their heart with our team.  We got to surround this teammate in love by laying hands on them and praying truth over their life.  It was a beautiful glimpse of community.

Today we took a step forward and tomorrow we will take another.  My personal goal is that every single day I look inside myself and rid myself of my own selfish desires so that I can love my teammates even when it is hard. I want to serve them sacrificially and pray for and speak life over them.

I know that I am called to breathe life on others and to ignite them with a raging fire and an electric current of God’s love.  God I thank you for oreo pancakes and the beginning of community.
