Yesterday, we climbed Pacaya, a stinkin Volcano! Yeah, pretty crazy! We walked out on the hot rocks from the active volcano, where in some places an unbearable steam came through the cracks and you could see the red-orange lava. And, yes as you can see from the pictures we roasted marshmallows. I only put the marshmallows about a foot away from the lava and they caught FIRE.
My brother,
Johnny Pratt, who is on the race commented this morning that he wants to be like this lava. That when someone comes even within a foot of him that they would catch the FIRE OF GOD. We all eagerly agreed that we too wanted that for our team this year.
Do you remember that move, “Fallen” from the late 90s. Well the premise of this movie is that the main character has a demon inside of him and he walks around singing this song, “Time is on my side” and as he passes people the demon enters a new person and they too begin singing this song. Well, your probably wondering why the heck I am writing about this movie. Well, we want to do this exact thing this year, but with the Spirit of the Lord. We want to encounter people in these 11 countries and leave them on FIRE for God, singing his praises contagiously and then empower them to do the same.
So, the art of disciple making can be compared to roasting marshmallows on top of a volcano. Light some people on Fire! And, impart the Spirit of the living God to everyone you meet.
