The scene: As you can see from the pictures, everywhere the eye can see life is billowing forth. Every shade of green imaginable springs forth across the landscape of valleys and mountains symbolizing ABUNDANT LIFE as green is the color that represents “Joie de vivre”. Baby ducks, chickens, pigs, calves, lambs and goats walk alongside the roads. The landscape speaks of life. Every day the rains come and usher more life and growth and flow down from the mountains to the valleys, filling the rivers and streams with fresh water. Butterflies are everywhere symbolizing transformation from their once lived life of a caterpillar to now living the life always intended.
Symbolic of God’s words to us… And what I believe God wants to do in us.
God spoke to me on 7.02.08 right after we arrived at our first destination in Mexico. He said, “Be still and know that I am God. Breathe deep and still yourself before me. Meditate on my word and seek my face.” Time and time again over the last two weeks God continued to speak these same words. Every single time I opened my bible the verses would confirm this. There was a battle inside all of us on our team and we were all fighting to be Martha’s when we were being called to be Mary’s. So we made a choice to soak in God’s presence and to BE STILL.
Our team is being filled up as we are still in His presence. The oil of anointing and gladness is being poured into us and we are growing like trees planted by streams of living water (Psalms 1) God’s word is fueling us and we are being filled with His presence and our roots are growing deep into the soil, planting us firm in the foundation of his WORD. God is planting seeds in us that will be birthed and bare fruit at God’s releasing and perfect timing. As we continue to be WELL FED in his word and filled with the power of the Spirit we will bare fruit. I know the process, growth and pruning will be hard, but through it all we will become “OAKS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS a planting of the Lord’s splendor” (Isaiah 61)
Lessons Learned: To be filled first with God’s presence above all else. We have seen in just three weeks the problems that arise and the frustrations that can occur as we try to operate in our own strength. Our team at times focused on the planning and the doing and took our eyes off of the Lord. We were operating out of emptiness. This year as a team we are committed to making sure that we are first and foremost filled up with God’s presence so that we pour HIM out on others. We want to bubble over with His annointing.
