I hope this letter finds you well! I wanted to write you and give you an update on some new things in my life. The past few years have been a blessing! I have been taking classes part-time while working with some amazing people to save up for further education and travel. As this new chapter in my life has been opening, I have commonly been asked what field I look to major in, what I plan to do with my life, etc. While I look toward my future and eventual completion of school and entering a career field, I seek to walk by faith, which has currently been leading me towards travel and missions.
In September 2017, I will serve as a missionary through an organization called Adventures in Missions in their World Race: Gap Year program. This journey travels to 5 different countries (Honduras, Cambodia, Guatemala, Thailand, and Ethiopia) throughout the world in 9 months. I have felt called to the World Race for a number of reasons. My desire is to live by the greatest commandment, “To love the Lord with all of my heart, mind, soul, and strength”. Another reason I have decided to partake in this journey is to love and care for others. I realize the impact an encouraging community can have, so as I travel to each country with my teammates I am determined to develop relationships with others.
This exciting opportunity gives missionaries the chance to put faith and love into action. World Racers utilize adventure, ministry, community, and self-discovery in order to love the broken, lost, and least of these. On the World Race, our team will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities. Our work will include preaching the Gospel, working in orphanages, ministering to women and children who are trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bringing the restoration and hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.
My heart is grateful for this opportunity that God has given me. I would ask for and appreciate your continued prayers for my journey. Attached is a prayer card as a thank you in advance. I am excited to see how God will move in my life and in the lives of others in the coming year, I hope to be a blessing to those we serve.
