As I prepare for the World Race & Training Camp (which is nearly two weeks away!) I’m reminded of the purpose of why I’m doing this. The whole purpose of the World Race is to spread the love of Jesus. To proclaim His name & share the Gospel with those we encounter. One of my constant prayers for my team is that we will always keep this focus. That trivial matters, issues of disagreement, & difficult days will not hinder us from remembering why we signed up for the World Race in the first place. As I’ve prayed about this the Lord has given me a gentle reminder that the purpose of the World Race should also be the purpose for my daily life. As I go to work in the mornings, encounter people in the grocery store, & go about my daily routine I should be focused on sharing the Gospel & being a vessel of Christ’s love. This focus should not begin on the first day of the race…it should begin now.
In church this morning we learned about praise. Praise is exalting someone else & taking the focus off ourselves. Praise is a response, & God desires praise from our whole being. The purpose of our life (& the purpose of the World Race) is to give God praise.
“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, & glorify your Father who is in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16
That is my prayer for the days to come. That my experience on the World Race would bring all the glory to my Heavenly Father. I deserve no glory for this. I’m just humbled He’s given me the opportunity to serve Him in this way.
