Tuesdays are my longest school days. Two weeks ago was a little extra busy as I had classes & group projects until 8:00 pm. By the time I got home I was ready for a break from schoolwork. I opened my computer to research tents, determined to finally purchase one that evening. My tent was the last big piece of gear I needed to purchase for the race. I had a coupon from REI that was going to expire soon so I wanted to commit to a tent that evening.
The support I continue to receive is truly mind-blowing. I am amazed that I am over 55% funded; therefore, I knew I had the funds necessary to purchase my tent. However, the purchase was still a significant amount, & I wanted to make sure I was confident in my decision. I finally committed to a tent, finished ordering it, & went to bed.
I woke up the next morning to an email from a local P.E.O. chapter. P.E.O. is a women’s philanthropic educational organization that supports the education of women at the post-secondary through graduate level. Earlier in the semester I was able to share my family’s adoption story & my opportunity with the World Race with this chapter.
I was left speechless as I read the email they had sent me. During their Tuesday night meeting (at the same time I was online purchasing my tent!) the chapter voted in favor of donating extra funds to me for the World Race. The email told me the donation was for nearly the exact amount of money I had spent the night before on my tent! I was completely shocked. What an amazing God we serve! I know the Lord used this moment to confirm to me the World Race is what I am suppose to do in August.
The Lord’s faithfulness shines through our lives daily. Often, it may not be in an as obvious way as the story above. However, this week I challenge you to pray for an ability to be aware of the Lord’s presence as you go about your day. Maybe it’s something small like remembering your lunch in the fridge as you are about to go out the door, or maybe it’s something bigger like your lunch (or tent
) being paid for in full in the most unexpected way. Whatever it is, praise Him for it. He is a good good Father, & I’m in awe of the fact that I’m His child.
“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church & in Christ Jesus to all generations forever & ever. Amen.”
-Ephesians 3:20-21
