For the past month and a half, I have been the Support Coach for the January 2010 N-Squad! That means that I am in charge of making sure that all 56 Racers are on their way to reaching the support raising goals that are set before them so that they are able to launch. It has been quite an interesting challenge on my part, and has already stretched me in ways that I never thought would be possible.
Now, when I first became Support Coach for the N-Squad, I was a tad bit worried and thought it quite humorous. Why?! Because I don’t consider myself a great support raising person myself…I felt like I have always struggled to raise support (all throughout the Race, and even now). How was I supposed to coach 56 people on how to reach their goals when I haven’t even reached mine?!
I started speaking with those who needed my assistance and needed to hear that it was possible to raise what is needed to go on the Race. And through speaking with them and challenging them (I actually give them homework), I realized that I wasn’t even really practicing what I was preaching to them. I needed, and still need, to be told that it is possible. I also began to change my own mindset about what support raising is. I realize that it’s about God’s Kingdom, and Glory for Him. That He has invited me into His world and on His journey to reveal Himself to the world…and that my job is to invite more people to follow along! Yes! I still ask for financial support (that’s the season of my life that He has called me to…to abandon what would seem easier for me, and to fully trust Him in this area), but I’m learning a lot from it. I don’t feel like it’s going to be a short season of my life…I fully believe that He is calling me into a place of COMPLETE DEPENDENCE on Him and He is going to plant visions and desires in me that will make me cling even more to Him.
So…as I’m beginning to actually understand that I will always be learning more about God and my role in His Kingdom plans, I want to invite you to come along for the ride. I want to remind you that this ISN’T just my journey with the Lord…that EVERYONE OF YOU IS INVITED! So, please join me! Be changed! Grow with me! Experience the Lord in ways that you never imagined!
