So…there are many things that we have done here in Morogoro, Tanzania…and I hope to be able to write about all of them and tell you soon enough…but this is one story I would most definitely love to share with you all!

The church that we are teamed up with here, Pentecostal AOG, had made plans for us to do Door-to-Door Ministry around parts of Morogoro.  Brenda and I were teamed up together with Innocent (one of the young members of the church who was going to help us translate) to go out on the first day in a smaller community area of Morogoro.  So…Innocent, Brenda, and I set out on an adventure for Christ…to go and share the love of Christ and love on His people!

Well…Praise the Lord because about 3 people came to Christ in that 2 hour period.  Out of those people, was one young man by the name of David.  David listened patiently as we shared the story of Christ with him, and the LOVE that He has for David…and at the end of us sharing the Christ we know, he asked to be saved.  So…we took him through a prayer and invited him to the church.  Well…he showed up the next night to one of our services just like he had said he would…and he entered that place with such excitement in his eyes.  Right away we greeted him…everyone!  We told Sanga (one of our contacts) who David was, and right away Sanga stole him away and began speaking with him.  When the service began, they introduced David to the church…and it was the beginning of a family for David.  I don’t know really how to explain it…but this church is such an example to the rest of us when it comes to inviting new people into the family.  Everyone took David under their wings.  Innocent befriended him right away and began to hang out with him…the pastor spoke with him…Sanga spoke with him….David hung out with us, as well!  The excitement that flowed from him was amazing to be near…he was so full of happiness and joy!  Just looking at him…you can tell that he really has been touched by the Holy Spirit…that he has had an account with Jesus Christ…and that he fully believes in him.  Over the next couple of weeks…we saw David everywhere (with that same excited smile)…he came to every service…and on one of our last services, the church set him up with a spiritual father (a member of the church to help disciple him).  On our last night that we saw David…we asked him how we could pray for him.  He told us that he had to stop going to school b/c his Aunt had stopped paying for him, so he hadn’t been in a couple of days, but he wanted to go back.  So…we prayed over him…we prayed over the finances of his schooling and for God to continue to grow him as a man of God…and Lindsay prophesied over him…he is going to be preaching the Good news of Jesus Christ throughout this world, for sure.  We said our goodbyes and we haven’t seen him since.  However, we found out yesterday that the next day after we had prayed over his finances…he received his tuition for his schooling and is now back in school.  Praise the Lord!

It has been such a blessing to witness people coming to Christ these past few weeks…and to have known a young man such as David.  Please continue to pray for those who have accepted Christ.  Please pray that they will continue to seek out the truth of Jesus Christ in such a heavily Muslim populated area.  Please pray that David will be able to become a witness to his cousin whom he lives with and the other young man that he lives with who is a Muslim.  Please pray that the love of Jesus Christ will shine off of him onto everyone he encounters and that he will be bold in preaching the Good News!
