Dear Friends and Family,
Hello! It is my last year as a student at Mississippi State University and a somewhat sad, but much anticipated one! I graduate in May taking many memories with me, and that is exciting! I began this year a little differently, with the excitement of being accepted to participate in the World Race through Adventures in Missions. Adventures in Missions is an interdenominational missions organization that has been operating for 17 years; Its focus is on discipling and emphasizing prayer and relationships in their work among the poor. The World Race is a part of Adventures in Missions and will minister the hope of Jesus Christ with five teams racing around the world to 11 countries in 11 months. I plan to leave in October 2008!
It has been a long journey to get to where I am now. I accepted the Lord during the Spring of 2004, when I was 21 years old! Since then, I have been striving to glorify Him in everything that I do. I heard Him calling me, telling me to “GO!” So here I am, a curious and expectant World Racer, about to share who Christ is in new and exciting places. I am certain that this is where I am supposed to be and Adventures in Missions is the ministry to take me there. This ministry has the tools necessary to equip me for the mission field. They will prepare me for the 11 month journey to 11 different countries, as well as pairing me with incredible people who are also seeking to spread the Gospel. During the World Race, Adventures in Missions will continue to disciple and train me in various areas of ministry and missions and allow me the opportunity to minister to those who need to hear about the Gospel.
I have hungered for this type of opportunity to serve God and thank Him for it. I pray that I will continue to trust that He will meet all of my needs. I pray that He will answer these needs through you. I want to invite you to partner financially and prayerfully with me in this ministry. I must raise $1,250.00 each month I stay to cover travel and living expenses for this World Race Mission for a total of $13,800.00 for the entire eleven months. A number of you may be in a position to financially contribute to my support. I calculated that if only five people gave $1,000 each, seven people gave $500 each, fourteen gave $250 each, and eighteen gave $100 each, then I would meet my goal! Will you pray about supporting me for one of these amounts? You can donate one-time gifts, or support me monthly. If 25 people gave $50 each of the 11 months of my trip, I would practically reach my goal!
I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, which invites you to share in this ministry. Please make checks payable to Adventures in Missions. You may write “appealed by” and my name in memo section of the check if you wish. All donations should be mailed to Adventures in Missions, P.O. Box 534470, Atlanta, GA 30353-4470. Including the enclosed card will provide AIM with all necessary information. Adventures in Missions is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Donors will receive receipts for their gifts with the understanding that the disbursement of those gifts lies completely at the discretion of Adventures in Missions and that the gifts are non-refundable and non-transferable, per IRS regulations. Gifts may be tax deductible; please consult your tax advisor.
I am excited to see how He will use me for His glory and what He will teach me. I hope you will prayerfully consider being part of my ministry. Thank you so much!
In Him,
