Peter and Laura

Who are these two people?!  Well, they are two friends that we made in China!  They are both teachers at Chinese government schools.  Peter teaches Chinese and Laura teaches English.  They are a married couple that live in a very Muslim populated area of China.  They befriended us immediately!  We were introduced to their city through them, as well as some traditional Chinese cuisines.  We were also guests in their schools, speaking in many of their classes and also had an opportunity to watch and American movie with some (100’s) of their students.  They were a blessing to have around (one, b/c of the English that they were able to speak; and two, b/c of their hospitality to us)!  We never really had a chance to speak with them about Christ, but we hoped that we were able to love on them like Christ would have…we certainly prayed for them as a team!  I will never forget this couple in China.  Please join me in prayer for them!  Pray that Christ will be revealed to them…that they will come to know the truth, and the wonderful love of Christ!  I pray that they will become my brother and sister and that I will one day see them again!

Marwin (or something close to that)

This is a gentleman that we met in our last city that we traveled to before heading back to meet up with or contacts and the other teams.  The boys met him on the bus ride and he became our tour guide for the next few days while in his city.  He also lived in a very Muslim populated area of China.  He took us all over his city…even into the mountains, and a temple!  We enjoyed his company…and he proved how useful black dress shoes were (he climbed a Chinese mountain in them!…the boys were considering getting a pair b/c of him)!  He was really the only welcoming part of the last city we were in.  In a way, he took care of us!  We had a chance to worship on top of the Chinese mountain in front of him.  He carried our guitar everywhere for us…and Braedon played the guitar while all of us worshiped our God in freezing cold weather on top of a Chinese mountain!  It was glorious!  Please pray that the words of that worship session would pierce Marwin’s heart…that he will begin to experience God’s love…and come to know the truth about our King…that He is real…and that He reigns…and that He wants Marwin!
