Hello Everyone!
Sorry it’s been such a long time since I last wrote! I’ve been super busy and completed occupied with S.O.S. (which definitely isn’t a bad thing). I just wanted to write and give an update on my life right now and where I am in my support raising.
Well, I am now in Memphis, TN working at a summer missions camp called S.O.S. This is my third summer working with this ministry and I am reminded of why I first fell in love with this place. S.O.S. was the first place that showed me and explained to me the importance of missions in the work for God’s Kingdom. It is where I fell in love with inner-city missions and the neighborhood of Binghampton. This is a part of my heart! So, I am here until the end of July, where I will then jet off to Gainesville, GA and meet the rest of the October 2008 crew and train for what is going to be absolutely amazing!
However, being in Memphis again is quite amazing itself. I moved into the S.O.S. building about a little over a week ago and met so many new faces; they are my fellow staff members that make up the S.O.S. Class of 2008! I love them already! I just pray that I get a chance to know all of them a little more before the summer ends. I want to build a relationship with them all and be able to share who Christ is to us with each other more! We actually got our first week of campers this past Sunday night and I feel like the week is already flying by. My position this summer with S.O.S. is a little different than I am used to. I am the Volunteer Coordinator, and one of my main goals as the V.C. is to share the vision of S.O.S. with local church volunteers who come to help serve dinner, wash clothes, clean the building, pass out popsicles to the staff and campers at the work sites. It’s kinda tough, but I’m learning to like my position a lot!
So…with that being said, it’s kind of been tough continuing to work on my support raising because I have been so busy and I’m scared that I will neglect S.O.S. if I concentrate on the World Race more, and vice versa. However, I have faith in the Lord and He has shown me time and again how truly faithful and amazing He is, so I know He will provide! So, here is a little update on what I have raised so far. God has provided me with $4,620 so far! I only have $9,180 more to go! Thank you for all of you who have supported me, whether financially, prayerfully, by provided material needs for my trip, or all of the above. I truly feel blessed to have you as a part of my mission to share Christ; after all, it’s your mission too!
Please continue to pray for me! Thank you!
