In order to stay in Thailand for the amount of time that we are here-33 days and because we only have 30 day visas, we have to leave the country and re-enter to renew our visas. Nessa/Lo decided to go to Burma for a few hours as it is the closest border to us. We headed into Burma/Myanmar having heard some about the things that are going on there, the killings of the Karen people and the racial cleansing that is occuring. Right off the bat the government officials very very friendly, taking our pictures and joking around with us all.

Once across the friendship bridge and through the burmese border we found a place to sit down and eat. A man who spoke English came up to us and shared with us about Burma-according to him it is a great place. This is contrary to what we had heard. Later found out that it is possible that he could be a spy or worried about someone overhearing him speak against his country.
We took a tour of the local market without success and then headed back to collect our passports at the border.
