This past week team Nessa went to the village of Utupampa, about 1 1/2 hour hike from Musho.  Most of us spent the week at the home of pastor Marino, his wife Margarita, and their four children-Noami, Jonathan, David, and Orfa.  Margarita cooked for us every meal and they really took care of us.  We spent the week out in Utupampa and surrounding areas with the pastor and another leader from the church Estefan.  We also spent every night in the church teaching and worshiping with the members there.  The pastors family and people in the community were so giving and caring.  Truly servants of God.

I think we (team nessa) came in with the mindset that we were going to serve and support this family and the church family.  But they ended up truly serving us.  When one of us was sick they came and tried to help with different things, like a coin on the head for a headache or urine on the throat for a sore throat.  I sprained my ankle once again and immediately the pastor and some of the childeren were right there trying to help.  Margarita even put some sort of herb mixture on my foot that was supposed to help with the pain.

The people in Utupampa really taught me what it means to be a true servant of the Most High and what the real meaning of love it.  They loved us no matter what and did everything to show us that love.  They brought us into their home and allowed us to be part of their lives for a week.
