In my down time here on the World Race I have been reading quite a bit. Not that it is anything new. Those that know me know that I am a little bit of a book worm and can spend hours upon hours with my nose in a book. When I was younger I used to get grounded from books when I got in trouble, instead of the TV or friends.  I’ve learned a lot through these books and continue to do so.

I just finished the book Velvet Elvis and there a few paragraphs that really struck me that I would like to share with you all.

” The thing that we are searching for is not somewhere else. It is right here. And we can only find it when we give up the search, when we surrender, when we trust.  Trust that God is already putting us back together.  Trust that through dying to the old, the new can give birth.  Trust that Jesus can repair the scarred and broken image.”

“It is in trusting that I am loved.  That I always have been.  That I always will be.  I don’t have to do anything.  I don’t have to prove anything or achieve anything or accomplish one more thing.  That exactly as I am, I am totally accepted, forgiven, and there is nothing I could ever do to lose this acceptance.  God knew exactly what he was doing when he made you.  There are no accidents. We need you to embrace your true identity, who you are in Christ, letting this new awareness transform your life.  That is exactly what Jesus had in mind.  That is what brings heaven to earth.”

During the past few months I have learned what it means to be broken and transformed.  Not to say that I have the all the answers, this is something the Lord put on my heart to share.  The Lord is always molding me and shaping me.  After all He is the potter and I am the clay. I have to be willing to let him transform me though.  If I try to be something I am not, I am not letting the Lord mold me.  Like it said in Velvet Elvis. God did not make any mistakes.  He made you to be you, not someone else.

God loves you as you are. You are made in His image!  Be the person that God has made you to be.  We are always growing, changing, and learning.  And the Lord is molding us through it all. Be open to being the clay, being broken, and become transformed in Christ.  Trust in God.

” No in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord”
