It’s been an eventful couple of weeks.
I’ve watched God provide is so many ways over the last few weeks, both big and small.
So, Let’s just praise Jesus for a minute..
Just over a week ago, I realized that, for work, I will be out of town for three out of the four weeks of August for, so paying rent for a house you’re not living in doesn’t make a lot if sense. When a friend offered to share her room, I jumped on it, packing and moving in 5 days. This change freed up my Rent money to be World Race gear money.
This week, while working out of town, I had the opportunity to hit a store for all my gear (the tiny town where I live doesn’t have such conveniences). I knew I had limited time to buy my stuff so I prayed there would be sales. While trying on my backpack, I noticed the tag said something about percentages off. Turns out, when I bought 4 or more backpacking gear items, I got 25% off each of them. Thank you, Jesus, for loving me!
In the craziness of short notice moving on top of work, the errands started piling up. On the day I needed to be out of my house, I had several places to be to get everything done. One by one, different people, without being asked, offered to complete each task that I needed done. Sometimes it’s in the little things that I appreciate God’s hand the most.
Lastly, but certainly not leastly, fundraising has been slow and steady. Because of horrid exchange rates, I’ve been hanging onto my Canadian donations for a little bit, hoping to either use the money on gear while still in Canada or see exchange rates improve before I converted it. I was starting to get a little restless, wondering what I would do if I didn’t meet my September goal of $3,500. A couple days ago, I was just randomly checking my world race fundraising account and I had received two new donations pushing my to $3,515.00. I am at my goal one and a half months early! Now I don’t have to worry about exchange rates and such before the first of October when I leave for the states. However, I am still working towards my next fundraising goal. There are many other ways I’ve seen God at work opening doors and working out details. It blows my mind to the that He cares enough to work out these minuscule details, that He’s interested in the goings on of my finite life. It’s a humbling, yet, empowering knowledge. He has never disappointed and I expect He never will.
When will I stop being surprised when God shows up?? Live expectantly!
