We were basically down to our last week in Morocco before “debrief” and we were so set on going to the Sahara Desert to ride camels but it just didn’t seem to be working out. We chose a day trip to Marrakech instead.

We said our goodbyes to our sweet and lovely hosts Tom and Lorraine and hopped on a train. The ride was longer than expected and we ended up arriving at our hostel somewhere close to midnight. It was a mesmerizing sight to behold and we walked through the square of markets and enchanters to our tiny hostel in the middle of the Medina.

As the hostel owner showed us to our room, we were a bit taken aback by the smell of fresh paint fumes. Shela and Nashielly specifically asked for another arrangement and slept in a different more crowded room. The rest of us chose to stay in the original room prepared for us. As soon as I laid down that evening, I felt a pressure on my chest. I directly related it to the paint fumes. The following morning a few of us sat down for breakfast and Talia specifically stated that she felt like something was sitting on her chest. She prayed that whatever that heaviness was that it leave right now in Jesus’ name! Sheila then shared how she woke up with a sobering feeling and a heaviness in her spirit. After breakfast, we went down to our room to finish gathering our things and Nashielly began to share with us that she barely slept the night before and couldn’t stop crying as God was giving her visions for the city and she woke up multiple times with just an urge to pray. We were on alert.

We left the hostel and prayed together as a team that God would guide every step and that we would be ready for what He had for us. We prayed for our obedience. Little did we know what God had prepared for us!

The day started out slow. We stayed together as a team and slowly meandered around, buying things wherever we had an interest. I stopped to buy a drum and at that point we got separated. Hannah and I stayed behind to talk to the store owner that sold me the drum. We shared the gospel with him and prayed for him and his business. We then went to meet the rest of the group.

As we explored the different creatures, spices, souvenirs, and tasted different treats, we eventually met back up with our team. As we stood in the square, I noticed Shela began praying for a local. Then, Nashielly began praying for a young man’s back. His back was healed of pain and signaled to his friends to come over.

After a while, people began flooding around us asking for prayer for different ailments literally right in front of the mosque! It was incredible. People were healed of back pain, knee pain, migraines, and one guy was even healed of chest pain. He was not able to take deep breaths without having pain because of a bone deformity. I prayed for his chest and he walked away. Moments later he ran back and excitedly showed me how deep he was able to take breaths now! I have never seen so many people come to receive prayer in a public place. Nashielly prayed aloud for all to hear, declaring the square as property of Jesus Christ and that the enemy will no longer have his way in that place. We boldly became the change that this place needed. We saw people healed. Praise Jesus.

The young man who’s back was healed walked with us all around town. He ate lunch with us. Nashielly shared the gospel with him and he asked Jesus to forgive him of all his sins and asked to be a part of God’s family! So cool. Later on, he invited us to his home for couscous. It was Friday, and Moroccans always eat couscous on Fridays. We prayed about it as a team and felt peace about going. While at his home we sang a few worship songs. I then shared the gospel message with his sister via google translate. She prayed to also become a follower of Jesus. We prayed for the grandmother’s knee and she said it felt much better. We were then  escorted home.

In the bible, it says that crowds followed Jesus wherever he went. Toward the end of our day we were so exhausted and a few of the girls were also sick. But we had so much joy and could not wait to take a day of rest as Jesus did so well.

Thank you for all of your support. I have one month left on this journey and I still have a little over 1000$ to raise in order to be fully funded. Would you consider making a one-time donation or, becoming a monthly donor? Thank you so much!
