As the days of training are coming to an end our team has been able to get some time to become more acquainted with each other. We’ve been asked to come up with a team name to help define us for team referencing but also as a reflection of our team personality. The biblical basis for our team name comes from Ephesians 2:21-22. “In whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.” The six of us are all coming together from different background and experiences. We as different pieces will become fitted together like Legos! : ) We have been brought together with a desire to know and grow in our relationships with the Lord. United we are strong and will persevere as the Spirit dwells within us.

To clarify our team name is
Lego. I like this name as it is a favorite childhood game of mine and I think it reflects our team well, as we’ve been told we’ll be working with orphans. In fact, our first ministry is going to be working with orphans in about an hour away from where we’re currently located in Manzini, Swaziland. The missionary here has just teamed up with some local Swazi businessman to help provide for these children. Previously these 90 some 3-7 year olds were being fed out of a clay pot maybe once a day. We’re being told that this will be the hardest ministry emotionally and physically for us. We’ll have no electricity, very limited running water, and camping in our tents at an old military base. I’m so excited, though I know it will be tough, but this is what I signed up for, what God as put in my heart. To love children that may have otherwise seemed forgotten, though I know our Heavenly Father has always loved them and not forgotten them for one second.
Our team will be working with team Salt from January’s World Race. Please check out some of their pages as some of us may be able to get to the internet more than others.
