Hi, this is Elizabeth, writing with Tamara. She is siting next to me
packing her clothes. In a few hours, we will be leaving to go to a new
island where we will be celebrating Christmas. O yes, did I mention
that we are already in the Philippines!
Time has flown by, and
the last couple months have been a hard journey, but they have been
amazing none the less. Tamara would probably never say this about
herself, but it has been an amazing journey to be her teammate and
friend and to see the light of the Lord grow in her. She is so joyful,
and she has grown in love and trust. And truthfully, I don’t know that
I could make it through this race with out her.
People all
around the world love her. She doesn’t think they do, but they flock to
her. In Cambodia, we worked with an orphanage and the children loved
her. Sometimes I would look over at her, and she would be running with
three or more children clinging to her. She was such a beautiful
picture of the Lord’s love.
Tamara: Everybody that knows me knows that I wasn’t around when
Elizabeth wrote her comments, but as far as Cambodia goes….pieces of
my heart have been left with some very amazing orphan girls. Overall,
it was a fun month filled with piggyback rides, crazy mopeds, rats, and
sleeping on a bed really close to elizabeth’s feet. (Don’t Ask, but if
you really must know inquire via e-mail.)
Elizabeth: In China,
she was so good at making friends with students that we met. Most of
our ministry in China was relational, so this came in very handy.
Tamara: China is only second to Swaziland as my favorite in our
ministry travels as of yet. I realized how important it is to befriend
international students if
they get the chance to study abroad at our colleges and
universities. There are so many false truths that these students
believe…the most dominant among the young women is that they are
overweight. I got to visit dorm rooms where they hung personal
reminders that “To be thin is beautiful” I ached for them as I want
them to know the beauty of the love of the Lord.
Elizabeth: As Tamara’s teammate I am very thankful that you love
and support her. The Lord defiantly has a calling on her life, and He
is going to use her to reach the nations for him.
Tamara: I’m
sorry that It has been so long since I have last posted a blog. (Last
month, we were not able to post.) As always I will try to do better and thank you for all your prayers this last year.
I hope you have a Merry Christmas!
Elizabeth: For the record, Tamara always wants to blog, but she
sometimes gets a little overwhelmed with everything that is on her
plate with team responsibilities.
Tamara: sigh, it’s true, but I hate excuses.
Elizabeth: Merry Christmas!!!!!!! Feliz Navidad Cha Cha Cha
Tamara: Merry Christmas! Frohe Weihnachten!!!
