Prior to arriving in Pattaya I was excited that internet would be more accessable and affordable than it had ever been on The World Race. I had so many stories and experiences I wanted to share from the previous months that I was behind on. I was doing well and then a couple of days at Pattaya my attitude began to change. I became discouraged, resentful, and somewhat rebellious towards writing blogs. It seemed blogging and getting to the internet was all anyone would talk about. Though that wasn’t entirely true it caused me to reflect on my blogging. Personally for me I saw I was begining to approach every ministry looking for something to blog about instead of listening to see what God was doing. Most of my life was viewed through the lens of “Will this make a good blog?” It felt consuming, seeming that moments of genuine bonding with a person were interupted by thoughts of titling a blog, getting a photo, or asking news reporter like questions. This was disappointing, but there was something more behind my attitude change…

I was not myself.

Two days ago I realized an underlying issue, that most assuredly heightened my frustrations. Prior to leaving for The World Race (WR) I, as I’m sure many others, spent multiple hours at the computer, on the internet, in front of a TV screen, or talking on the phone. I had felt controlled by these and saw people nearly adicted to the showers of media. For me part of coming on WR was to get a way from this, I longed for a simpler lifestyle and yet I’ve found my life surrounded by it again.

Before too many get their feathers ruffled, please know I do understand and even agree that blogging is very significant. I want to share, update, and encourage supporters, family, and web page visitors. In fact I’ve realized getting comments from you continutes this beautiful circle of encouragement. (I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. Romans 1:12, NKJ)

Thank you for your patience, grace, and prayers. .

Please note I will be posting blogs that may not be in chronological order. The date of which the event occured will be in the upper right.
