He called a little child and had him stand among them. And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18:1-3

~~~Some years ago, there was a young mother who went to run some errands. After circling the block she was left with no choice but to parallel park on a busy street. Her first two attempts had failed making her frustrated and aggravated with the situation. Stressed, she put her arm behind the passenger headrest and looked back preparing to reverse for her third attempt. Then a little voice coming from the car seat said, “Mommy, just pray to Jesus and He’ll help.” ~~~ Basic, simple, and pure described my faith as a child. My mom has adorable stories like this of how I would remind her about God in our daily lives. As I grew older it seems my faith evolved to mean mostly a building called church and church became another obligation in my busy schedule. Eventually, I began to rebel in ways that I hate to think many teenagers do. Things changed in the early hours of July 5th 1998. God made it clear to me that the life I was living was not what I was made for,
He had chosen ME and in that moment my heart was changed. I couldn’t and didn’t want to do anything else but choose him back. That morning a true relationship with my Savior began.
“Godly sorrow spurs us to life-saving action. False guilt makes us cower and flee. When I encounter disasters, wars, homelessness, hunger, disease, I pray I’ll be able to stand with people in their suffering, hold on to my faith, and wait for the Master’s next command.” ~Mitali Perkins
I have embraced these words ever since the moment I first read them. Clearly and simply put, this is how I want to live my life. I have been lost, broken, torn and yet our Heavenly Father was there standing with me in my suffering during each of these life seasons. How could I not want to follow His example of comforting love and service?
In June I’ll be embarking on a new journey with those who have also answered a call go into the World and share the glory of Christ. I am so excited to see how God is going to touch, use, and grow us all; the people unintentionally and purposefully met in each country, the World Racers, the Encouragers, the Prayer Warriors, the Supporters, the Administration, local Missionaries, web surfers…the World!
Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I
will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains.
Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
Ephesians 6:19-20 (NIV)
