Hello everybody!

My Squad and I made it to Malaysia! We have been working with the homeless community as well as the displaced refugees here. I am really enjoying the new culture! Although I am not a fan of spicy food(with the exception of the spicy Chick-fil-A sandwich), or eating the WHOLE chicken (heart, pancreas etc.), I am adapting to eating here and having rice with every meal. The people here are warm and friendly for the most part. There is a unique blend of cultures here! Malay people , Indian Malaysian, Chinese Malaysian, and many other ethnicites are here. Most speak English, too, which is a blessing. God is moving in the Muslim communities here, and I’m excited to be here showing the love of God through everything we do! So far we have been bringing food, clothing, and other necessities to the communities that were hit hard by the recent flooding that occurred as a hurricane passed by. Many refugees lost their homes, and must again rebuild their lives. They cannot legally have jobs, earn income, or send their children to school here because most of them are not recognized in this country as anything. Please pray for them! Also, pray for my teammates and I , that we will be able to continue this flood relief effort! What’s crazy is that we were scheduled to arrive here a day before the flooding, but because of the closed boarders in Turkey, our arrival date was pushed back a few days. A great reminder that God has his hand in everything! Thank you for the birthday wishes yesterday! I spent the day with refugees, and then went to eat American food for dinner! Thank you all for your continued prayers and encouragement! You can get to know my team by taking this quiz 🙂  Let me know who on my team you are most like, and maybe it’s me! Love you all!
