With each new country comes changes, but this month has included some significant changes on my race journey.

We recently had a squad debrief in Jordan and said goodbye to Tamara as her journey with us has come to an end and she is headed back to America to bigger and better things. We were privileged to have an alumni leader join us and I have personally grown so much from her. In addition to this, all the teams had team changes and I had to say goodbye to Team Redeemed. These five women hold such a sweet spot in my heart and I am thankful for them. I’ve journeyed with them for the last 4 months and have been blessed to grow in community with them.

However, as one good thing comes to an end another opportunity arises. I have been asked to be a squad leader! What this means is that I get to visit the different teams on the field and intentionally connect and pour into each person to help them on this transformational journey. The setup may look different each month, but we get the privilege of helping create and facilitate the cultural environment for our squad and run future debriefs. Our current squad leaders (Soloman, Eric, Alysa and Laura) leave the field in January (with the exception of Eric who is leaving a little earlier) and we are currently going through some training with them. The four of them have been so influential in each of our journeys and I have gleaned from them all so much. We have also been blessed to have spent some more time with our squad mentor, Jeremy, and squad coaches, AJ and Jenn this past week.

My new leadership team consists of 3 powerful women and I’m so excited to do this with them! Together we are called the 4 seasons! Emily represents Winter, Landry Autumn, Cortnie Summer and I’ve been given Spring. Each has its own significance to us and we are excited that as we journey with each other and the squad how God is going to use our gifts to build up the body, take us through different seasons and bring wholeness.

It’s crazy to think how God has been orchestrating it all along, from revealing to me in Morocco that the squad was to be my biggest ministry, to gently raising me up in leadership positions from treasurer, to team leader to squad leader. The current leaders prayed into it and the 4 of us were highlighted for this role- which is so encouraging and confirming. Please pray for me and my new team as we embark on what will look like a completely different race to what we initially anticipated. Lots of exciting, challenging times ahead but as the song by United Pursuit depicts:

“Though the seasons change your love remains”.
