Last but not least, we have the fierce (and sweet) women of Talitha Koum. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to serve alongside these girls and get to know them better as a team and individuals. I can’t wait to share a little bit about with all with you, so without further ado, the women of Talitha Koum.

Avery

Aves is quite the pillar of faith and wisdom. She knows the Lord in such a deep, intimate way and is always open about how and what the Lord is speaking to her. This is so encouraging and edifying to the body. She also is incredibly positive and always finding the best in every situation placed before her. She never fails to give the credit to the Lord in any and every circumstance. Check out her blog at averypratho.theworldrace.org.

Savana

Sav is a nut haha. She always shares exactly what is on her mind which usually leaves me laughing a whole lot haha. With this, she also carries so much depth to her. She has such a cool perspective on things and I love hearing her share. She is also always finding ways to help past where we are called to help or our “duties” at ministry and encourages me towards more of a servant’s heart. Check out her blog at savanalovell.theworldrace.org.

Brooke

Brookie Cookie is my snuggle bud. After a long day of ministry I can always count on her to want to snuggle and know about my day. She loves others around her with such ease. I am so thankful for her and the friend she has become. She is easy to laugh with and I have felt really sought out and loved by her from the very beginning. Check out her blog at brooketownson.theworldrace.org.

Molly

Molly is a leader at her core. She naturally takes the lead and makes decisions with such ease (something I wish I could do haha). I really trust her and the feedback she gives me. She has really accepted me as a leader and friend and I am so eager to see where our relationship goes as we step into the next couple of months. I love my conversations with her so incredibly much. Check out her blog at mollymccrary.theworldrace.org.

Elyse

Elyse is a natural born leader who leads with such grace and humility. She is the kind of leader who leads her team just through her everyday actions and words. This comes from the deep intimacy she has with the father and the wisdom she walks so boldly in. She also has a sarcastic sense of humor which I thoroughly enjoy during my times with her. Check out her blog at elysewestra.theworldrace.org.

 Hannah

Hannah is a sweetie. She is actually older than me and walks in so much wisdom, but also so much humility. I love to look to her for advice on college and grown up life haha. She is also such a breath of fresh air. I feel like she carries so much peace that transfers even through a hug or simple conversation. I love how vulnerable she has gotten with me as we have begun to get to know each other better. Check out her blog at hannahjermain.theworldrace.org.

Abby

Abs is so real and vulnerable. You can trust that when you ask her how she is or how her day was so will be open and honest with you. I have also really enjoy the conversations I have with her. I feel like we just click and conversations flows easy when we are together which says a lot about her and I’s relationship with one another. Check out her blog at abigailcook.theworldrace.org.

Melina

Mel is just about as sweet as sweet can be. She carries such a gentle spirit that is so calming to be around. I really enjoyed seeing how well she loves and sees the kiddos in her classes at ministry. She makes everyone of them feel the love of the father which is so incredibly beautiful. And this doesn’t stop at ministry, but carries over to her team, the rest of the squad, and I as well. Check out her blog at melinatirrell.theworldrace.org.

Here they are, the women of Talitha Koum. They are serving through a school called Love at Work, although only half of them actually have ministry at the school. Hannah, Brooke, Melina, and Abby spend everyday working in different classrooms throughout Love at Work school. Hannah and Brooke took on the preschoolers and love on those sweet babies so well. Melina (with 1st-3rd grade) and Abby (with 7th-11th grade) follow an English teacher around and help the kids learn and get exposed to more English. Once school is let out they run an afterschool tutoring program for different age groups each day as a whole group.

The other half of the group works in the slums just a few minutes drive from the school at the Life Center. They help tutor kids in the community, teach them English, and run a program for them for two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon with a break in the middle. The kids are also fed lunch which the team helps serve. This ministry is just a way for those kids to get some educational help and a whole lot of loving.

So my time with this team will be spent between the two different ministries over the course of the next couple months. I am so eager and ready to get to know them better as we continue living together and doing ministry side by side.

I hope you have enjoyed getting to know my teams even from a distance. They are incredible women who are seeking so wholeheartedly after the Lord and His plan for them which is incredibly inspiring for me. The Lord is using me to help guide them as they begin this nine month journey, but He is also using them to teach and inspire me as I head home in a couple of months. It is funny how the Lord works that way.

Just as a general update for those that are curious, I am currently chilling at Jaco Beach here in Costa Rica along with the squad for our month one debrief. This time is used to refresh, get rest, rejuvenate, and dedicate time to fully seek the Lord, so we can go back to ministry and continue to pour into the people of Costa Rica. Pray for us through this time as we refuel for the next two months in this incredible country.

Thanks for reading!! Catch you next time 🙂
