Day one of debrief (which was a beautiful, relaxing vacation period we had in Antigua) we learned that there was going to be a team change. Nothing too big, but a change nonetheless. We were told that we would be going from a squad with seven teams to a squad with six teams (logistically this was a necessary thing due to the fact that we only have two squad leaders and seven teams). At first, my heart DROPPED. Being a team of five it was inevitable that we would gain at least one team member which meant no more Dynami. I had grown so very close to the four other girls on my team and in my head it was going to be really hard to add another sister or two to our happy little family.

Soon after we were told this, I decided to take it to the Lord before setting any more expectations and let me tell ya, the big man upstairs knows way more than I ever will. He assured me that everything would work out for the good of his glory. He pushed me to discover the roots of my pain and hurt in this change. While I would hate to admit this, change itself was the root. For some reason (that I still haven’t discovered) I have such a fear of change. Yes, me the girl who decided to travel to all ends of the earth is a planner haha. I think I set forever plans in my head and when they change it throws me off a bit, so the Lord and I are still working through that however, I left my quiet time feeling so secure and at peace with the situation. I could already feel that the Lord had some really big plans for us as a future team.

A couple of days later they announced the new teams and I am so so so very happy to say I am a member of Team Sol along with Drew Doyle, Lexi Grisanti, Ashley Starks, Emry Brandenburger, Sarah McClure, and Julia Barker. Boy oh boy am I excited to see what the Lord has in store for this team as we take on ministry together in Guatemala. He is already pushing us all towards a deeper and more radical faith. I am ready to see how all of our different strengths come together to further the kingdom.

Cool backstory on Sol that we remembered after our team name was set in stone. For those of you out there who are speakers of Spanish, you probably already know this, but sol is sun/sunshine in Spanish. In Cambodia (it feels like years and years ago), Team Dynami was doing ATL (ask the Lord-an exercise where we practice hearing the voice of the Lord and go into the community chasing after what he has given us) and Drew got a vision of a sun. We ended up at Sunrise Cafe without really understanding or knowing why. Now, it almost seems like the Lord was for shadowing for us. At that point, a team change wasn’t even a thought on our minds, but look where we sit now.

So here I am in Guatemala teaching English with my new team! We are staying at an amazing base and riding chicken buses everywhere. The Lord has so many big plans for us here and I can feel his presence so strongly already. Blog to come next week on ministry and all the fun things!!

Please pray for a nice and smooth transition as we begin a new ministry. Please please please pray for my parents and teammate Drew as they continue their fundraising journey!! My parents are about $1,000 short of their goal and Drew is $2,986 short. We have just under two weeks to get these peeps fully funded!! The Lord is going to do some incredible things, but don’t forget that you can help! Literally EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS!!

Thanks for reading and following my journey! So much love!!
