I hope, through this blog, to give you a glimpse into what a typical day of ministry looks like for me.

Each morning, I begin my day bright and early. My team and I wake up around 5:30am (if you know me at all, you know this is not a good time of the day for your girl haha). We then have a team Bible study starting at 6am which goes into breakfast which is at 6:30am. Then, we have a tuk tuk to catch at 7am (if you don’t know what a tuk tuk is, you should definitely look it up haha). The tuk tuk takes us from where we are staying (in the city) to a smaller village in Battambang. This tuk tuk ride is quite possibly one of my favorite parts of the day. We go by the same things everyday, but I ALWAYS notice something new.

Once we arrive at ministry, Ashley and I’s first class begins at 7:30am. We have little kids during this period and they are precious. They range in age from probably 5-8. They are so loving and, for the most part, eager to learn. They draw us a countless number of pictures each day and have given me more hugs in two weeks than I think I have had in a lifetime. I typically become a human jungle gym which is a workout within itself. This class ends at 10:30am and then those kids go home.

After our first class, we have a break for lunch and rest. During this time, we are served the most amazing feasts for lunch. Lemme tell ya, I could eat Cambodian food for days haha. Then, after lunch, we typically take a nap, have team time, have quiet time, go get coffee, go to the rice fields (my happy place), etc. It just depends on what we are feeling for the day.

Our second class for the day begins at 2:00pm. This class consists of a bunch of silly, middle school aged kiddos. They are so precious and dear to my heart. Their English is so good and through them I am learning some Khmer! I can count to 20, say hi, and say bye (I guess you could call the progress haha). They are a little more rambunctious and sassy than the first class, but I love it. They show so much love, just in different ways than the little ones. I honestly don’t know how I am going to leave either one of my classes. They have taken a part of my heart and even just leaving for a couple of days, I miss them so much! This class ends at 5pm.

After that, we get back on the tuk tuks and head to our home. We often arrive home at around 5:30pm and then have team time (unless we had it during the break) until dinner which is at 7pm.

By this point, I am exhausted. These days and this ministry is beautiful and so rewarding, but is also so tiring. We are constantly pouring love into these kids and working hard to beat the language barrier (we often don’t have a translator). I love every moment, but I definitely don’t have trouble falling asleep at night. God always comes through and provides strength for me to wake up day after day to serve him, our hosts, and the kids right in front of me. I love New Hope School and I am so blessed to be placed there. I wouldn’t change a thing!

Saturdays and Sundays look a little different. On Saturdays, we get an off day which is so nice! It can be spent in any way we want! Sundays, we lead a Sunday school class at New Hope which is so great and then we have the rest of the afternoon free. It is great to have the free time to rest, blog, spend time with the Lord, adventure, etc.

So, there’s a little glimpse into my everyday life here in Cambodia! So glad God has given me an opportunity to love on people all the way across the world.

Thanks for reading!! It means the world <3 Your support is more than I could ever ask for!! Sending love from Cambodia!
