To be alive is very different than to be living. We are are alive, conscious, present, our hearts are beating, our minds are racing, but are we really living? To answer the question it has to be followed up with yet another, “do you have a purpose?”. Without purpose we are in fact primeval beings floating amongst the earth made by no one, made for nothing. However, there is good news; every human being is made with a specific purpose finely engineered by the creator of all things. Unfortunately, many individuals are not aware of the fulfillment and passion that accompanies this unimaginable plan. Because of this people do not receive the best gift the universe has to offer, a purpose. As I continue to grow in my relationship with God he reveals to me my purpose. My purpose is to love, to serve and to tell people about Jesus. He has told me my heart is the root of my spiritual tree. If my heart serves a purpose and that is God, it will bring water to my roots, leaves to my branches, and fruit to fill others.

As I step closer to launch, certain things are being revealed to me daily. First, that my purpose is through God and only God. As a human being, born in sin and shaped in inequity, it is very challenging to fathom this. Anything good is not my own, it is his. He is the light within me that shines so bright. Knowing it is about him is actually very freeing. It is certainly not about me at all. It makes the burden so much lighter, because it is not mine to carry.

God speaks of the tongue containing the power of life and death. Because of this the tongue holds a great amount of purpose. There is a purpose attached to every word that parts from my tongue. The Lord has been showing me my tongue has power, through him. Words are infectious, contagious, beautiful, and impactful. Day by day the lord is teaching me to be conscious of the things that I speak into others lives as well as my own life. I am learning to plant a garden in the lives of other beings simply through the power, through the purpose, of my tongue.

He is also teaching me that my thoughts hold an incredible amount of purpose. All words and actions emanate from the ultimate tool, my brain. When I choose to produce positive thoughts it creates a fruitful outcome. So, if i’m watering my spirit with the word of God it will essentially place purpose in my thoughts, then my words, and then my actions. However, If my heart is not right then my thoughts will follow. It is important for God to be the purpose driving my heart, thoughts, words, and actions. I have an immense amount of purpose. My purpose is for God to use me to spread the love he has to offer. In short: my purpose is serving God.
