One year ago, the Lord led me to sign up for the World Race. I said yes to fundraising $18,200 for 11 months of traveling the world, spreading the gospel and sharing God’s amazing Love with His children in every nation in which I step foot.
I stepped out in faith and said YES to the call God had for me this year. Of course I knew I couldn’t do this without help from my family and friends… and God working in people’s lives.
Well, it is now one year later, one day away from the final fundraising deadline, and I’ve got some pretty cool news…
MY TRIP IS NOW FULLY FUNDED!!!
I believe that everyone is called to spread the gospel and share the good news.
“And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.’”
~ Mark 16:15
But everyone has different roles in this call. God may ask some to donate their time to help a friend make brownies and sell as a fundraiser, or design a T-shirt to sell. God may ask some to donate their finances, on a consistent monthly basis, or even a one time gift. God may ask some to support regularly through their fervent, fire prayers. God may ask some to use their encouraging words to reach out to someone on the mission field, to keep their spirits lifted and put a smile on their face when they’re missing home, or to send a motivational podcast or verse that stirs their heart. And God may ask some to get on an airplane and go to another nation to share in person.
But don’t you see, the one who is called to get on the airplane is not the only missionary in this equation. They are not the only one who was called to preach the good news and see people saved, baptized and healed. Without the network of support from all the others who were called first, that person who is physically going would simply not make it. God has called us all to take a part in this, and He will be glorified as we say YES to the specific calling He has for each.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
~ Matthew 28:19-20
So, to everyone who followed what you felt was God’s call for you, whether through time, finances, prayers, encouragement, or physically stepping out… whether I know you or not, THANK YOU! A million times over! What I am doing is only a small part in God’s plan to draw more people back to Him. My yes is only one of hundreds or thousands that have happened in order for even one person to be saved. We’re all in this together (cue the High School Musical song that will probs get stuck in your head… you’re welcome)!
It’s truly mind-blowing what God can do in one year! And it’s even more phenomenal when we say Yes to being a part of it! Not that God needed us to make it happen, He could have called the rocks to cry out with a YES and be sent out to the nations if we chose not to… but He WANTED to use us! He loves us! Even with all our mistakes, God even LIKES us! And He loves it when we say YES to His amazing plans so that not only other people are blessed but WE can be blessed too!!
Okay, I’ll get off my soapbox now. Just one final thing to say…
THANK YOU FOR SAYING YES AND PARTNERING WITH ME TO SEE LIVES CHANGED THIS YEAR!
**For those of you were were so faithfully donating each month, or for anyone who still wanted to donate, please consider helping my teammates who still have funds to raise. They won’t necessarily be kicked off the race after tomorrow, but they do need to find a way to raise the money as quickly as possible. Please consider and pray about going to their blogs and donating towards them or switching your monthly donations to them instead of me. If more is donated towards my blog over the $18,200, it will simply go into the general funds for Adventures in Missions.
