First of all, THANK YOU for visiting my blog! I am super excited to start sharing my journey with you. I’ll start with a little about me…
My name is Tabitha Simmons and I am 25 years old. Of course, I am thrilled to have this opportunity to join the World Race in January of 2019, and to be able to minister and share the love of Christ in 11 different countries throughout the following 11 months!
I was born and raised in Muncie, IN, where I had the most wonderful and supportive family and church. I invited the Lord into my heart at a young age and have been astounded by His goodness in my life! I was also homeschooled, along with my three siblings (two amazing brothers and my beautiful sister), and love that we were able to become so close.
I have always loved traveling and working with children, so I graduated from Ball State University with a degree in Elementary and Special Education and a minor in Spanish. My dream has been to travel as a missionary/teacher wherever the Lord leads me. Currently, I am a Special Ed teacher for K-5th grade students with emotional disabilities, and I really do enjoy teaching them! My job can be extremely exhausting and frustrating at times, but God has taught me so much through these little ones and I know this is all part of His amazing plan.
Bullet point favorites/loves:
- My favorite color is turquoise or malibu blue.
- I love being active and can’t stand more than a day without leaving my house.
- My birthday is January 2nd, so I’ll be turning 26 just before this adventure begins.
- I love old-time tv shows, such as Little House on the Prairie and Dr. Quinn the Medicine Woman.
- I wouldn’t say that I am fluent, but I can speak/understand a fair amount of Spanish.
- I love learning new languages (and am hoping to pick up on quite a few next year).
- I love trying new foods, even if they sound gross.

Finally, my favorite verse of the Bible is:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
