I don’t even know how to start a blog right now…

I guess life on the Race has just become so ordinary that nothing seems significant enough to talk about. I recently heard the following quote which seems to fit nicely with my life at the moment;

“Taking a trip for six months you get into the rhythm of it, it feels like you could just go on forever.

This rhythm that I’ve gotten into revolves around prayer, community living and spiritual tuning. Last month we were posted on a mountaintop at El Shaddai Children’s home with 57 children between the ages of 1 and 14. We did everything from harvest maize to paint murals and of course play with kiddos! Throughout the month the 13 of us who were together started to understand our ability to shift the spiritual climate.

The kids at El Shaddai are so blessed to be brought up in a place where they have food, clothing, shelter and words of life being spoken into them daily. But throughout the month some funky stuff was going on in which we realized we could only address through prayer and intercession. The times that we worshipped and prayed corporately we noticed a literal change in the atmosphere. One evening as we were worshipping on the rock outside our huts we looked up to realize we were surrounded by crazy ominous rain clouds but directly above the stars and moon were displayed brightly through a window in the sky. We truly felt that our worship had literally changed the atmosphere above and around us.

And so we began doing prayer walks to put a hedge of protection around the property and around the children. We prayed nightly for the king of Swaziland, who from what we heard is a pretty corrupt guy. We even began to pray for healing for a particular little boy with bowed legs, named Kelvin. Sometimes it was a battle to see the physical evidence that God was moving, but other times we knew the Holy Spirit was there with us and using us in unforeseen ways.

Ultimately, nothing drastic or extraordinary happened while we were in Swaziland, to be honest. The children are precious for sure – you can bet I would have smuggled a couple in my bag if at all possible. But my team is learning to be faithful even still in our prayers; so we’ve kept praying for Kelvin and the King, because we believe it’s the only way healing and restoration will occur.

The week before we left Swazi, there was rumor of some sort of political agitation. I’m sure if some crazy political upheaval happens it’s because of our prayers…

Quick support update:

I must be fully funded with $14,300 by the end of this month.  This will be a complete faith month because we have extremely limited internet access and I have just under $2,000 left to raise.  But on that note, I’m pretty pumped, because this means I’ve already raised 12,000 dollars, which blows my mind.  So please be in prayer for the rest of my funds to come in and click “Support Me” if you’d like to help.  But thank so much to everyone who has already donated.  You guys are amazing!
