Will you still love me when I don’t show up for you the way that you think I should?
Will you still love me when you don’t have the children you’ve always wanted?
Will you still love me if I never give you the husband /wife that you think that you need/want?
Will you still love me if the life plans you’ve made don’t work out for you?
Will you still love me if I don’t heal you when you think I should?
Will you still love me if I don’t heal that person when you want me to?
Will you still love me when you lose your loved ones?
Will you still love me when I make you wait for my timing?
Will you still love me when I have to correct you when you’ve gone astray from me?
Will you still love me if I don’t take the cancer away?
Will you still love me when the people around you make fun of me?
Will you still love me when the people around you make fun of YOU because of me?
Will you still love me when you see the pain that exists in the world today?
Will you still love me when that little baby dies of HIV/AIDS?
Will you still love me when that beautiful daughter of mine gets sold again?
Will you still love me if you don’t become a millionaire in monetary things?
Will you still love me if I don’t let you live out the “American dream”?
Will you still love me if you can’t have the clothes you want?
Will you still love me if I take things away from your life to make my name more powerful?
Will you still love me if I take you out of your comfort zone?
Will you still love me if I don’t answer the prayers in the way you think I should?
Will you still love me if I gave you what you need and not what you want?
Will you still love me if I take your house away and everything that you own?
I could go on, but I will stop here for now. Now it’s time to ask the question… It’s time for a heart check.
Will you still love Him anyways?
The questions might seem silly, but really stop and think about them. Would you still be happy or would you feel like God is punishing you, not listening, not loving you, or not being fair?
God tells us that He will give us the desires of our hearts, BUT is the desire of your heart truly from God?
4Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. Psalm 37:4&5
I’ve noticed a lot of my desires were worldly, and not from God. Something that the world has told me that I need or I can’t be happy. Where are you storing your treasures?
19Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. 20but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21 ESV
I think the ultimate thing that we need to understand is that His plan is ALWAYS better than what we have in mind. Everything we go through has a purpose and a season.
Trust in the Lord fully with your life, ALL of your life, and see how he will blow your socks off for your faithfulness! I mean….I am going to be traveling around the world sharing His radical love in ways I’ve only ever dreamed about before. Mind = blown.
My answer was NOT simple (although it probably should have been)…I had to really STOP and examine myself.
YES.
Yes, I will love you anyway.
I actually have to make this choice by the day, by the moment, sometimes.
So, what is your answer?
Remember this isn’t a game…God will take your word for it. Don’t just say the words. Mean them.
If you liked this post I would encourage you to follow my blog, and support me. I can’t go out to the world to be the hands and feet of Jesus without your prayers and financial support.
For there to be a lasting change in the world today there has to be someone who is willing to take that first step. Are you ready?
