Why would you go on a trip like this?!? Great question that I would love to answer for you!

A few reasons that I am going on this trip to help find my identity in Christ, affirm the fact that I serve a living God, to reach out to the people who need Christ and His love the most, and for the adventure of it all. Now I do feel a little guilty about my reasons because they are mostly selfish. Don't get me wrong I definitally have a desire to go out and serve all of the people that are in great need in the world, but by doing so I realize that there will have to be a lot of personal growth to share God's love to them. I am aware that going on a trip like this is an amazing opportunity and many would go just for the traveling experience, but I prayed hard that this wasn't the only reason I wanted to go on this trip. I mean I've never traveled out of the country before…for any reason. That's why I say "Go big or go home!" Haha. God helped bring peace to my heart that it was okay to have an adventure such as this, but not forgetting why I am truely there. I was given a verse by God while I was fasting and praying about this journey that I would like to share with you guys…it basically helped affirm my decision to go out to all nation and serve my mighty God. "One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wonderous works, I will meditate. They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness. They shall pour forth the faith of your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of your righteousness." Psalm 145:4-7 ESV. That verse is pretty powerful, guys. I want my generation to be the one that is mentioned in this verse. I want to travel all over the world and just declare how amazing our God truely is! Like I was saying in my last post (which you should go read if you haven't already) I want to be like the disciples in the Bible…I believe that if I am willing and go out that God will use me for His glory. I heard this quote a while back that I just love "God doesn't called the equipped, He equips the called." I'm not sure I am properly equipped for this amazing journey that is ahead of me, but I have full faith in God that He will provide me with the skills I need to share Him. I'm totally ready for some Matthew 10: 7-8 action "And proclaim as you go, saying 'the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.' Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, and cast out demons. You received without paying;give without pay." We serve a might LIVING God that still works miracles today! I also read the rest of Matthew 10 that tells me that this road will not be easy, people will not listen to us, people will hate us, people will even want to hurt us. But what is Faith without risk right? Haha. If God sends us there and we meet conflict I have every confidence that He will stand and fight for us. So it won't always be rainbows and butterflies, I'll get storms and pain, and I'm okay with that. I can learn to dance in the rain.
