This was one of the last things that I heard as my team and I said goodbyes to the girls we had invested our time in last month. I may or may not have teared up a little as I replied “my heart will always remember you too…”
I’m still processing some of the things that went on last month, but there are indeed girls that live in Chiang Mai Thailand that my heart will never forget. The girls are not just prostitutes or bars girls looking for the next John to spend time with. The girls are just girls, women. Women that have the same needs and desires as I do. They want to be loved and cared for, to be valued, and they have dreams for their lives beyond the bars. The girls are so ready to have a friend/man that doesn’t judge them for what they do or how they are living. They just want love, real love. I’m happy to say that I feel like I gave my all last month…but not only my all but also all of God that I could. It amazed me how much the girls were willing to give back, they would cook for us, want to go hang out with us, and even bought us drinks a few times haha. This was one of my favorite months on the race so far!
