Welp, another month finished with just one more month between the good ‘ol US of A and me!!
Our month here in Kathmandu is drawing to a close. We have been staying at an organization called Asha Nepal. This is a safe house for Nepali women and children that have been trapped in the sex industry. This month we have just been living life with these people and trying to bless them any way that we can.
I’ve been a little stuck on exactly what to write about this month which is part of the reason why I haven’t blogged yet. At the beginning of this month I was thinking that this was going to be one of the busiest months of the race with plenty to do. Well, that thought was tossed by the end of the first week of ministry. Our original plan for ministry here is to be doing Bible studies with the women and children separately, to tutor the kids in school, tutor some of the women in English, and help out around the house. It was hard to get ministry started because there was poor communication between the women and our team. We did manage to have a few sessions, and I thought they were going pretty good. But after the first week it became harder to get the women and kids in the right place at the right time for our sessions. It honestly was frustrating to get lessons ready and go and wait for them and then they do not show up. We tried to talk to them about why they weren’t coming…they just said one word “busy”.
After the women and kids started not coming we didn’t have much to do. The other good and bad part of this month is that we have had decent internet access, so it was hard to leave room at times. I’m afraid I’ve become partially hermitafied (totally a word) here haha. At month ten I’m getting definitely feeling tired of this race life and being away from family and home…so it’s a lot easier to feel ‘ok’ if I’m a lazy. Sad but true.
I’ve don’t like thinking that this month we may not have done our best to make an impact on the lives of the people that live here…if we’ve made any impact. I’m trying to trust in God’s plan in all of this…surely He knew what a challenge that we were going to face this month. It wasn’t one of my best months for ministry this month for sure. I am in love with Nepal though.

Nepal has to be one of the, or the, prettiest countries I’ve ever visited. We’ve been blessed to live right in the rim of Kathmandu valley, PLUS a view of the Himalayan range from our balcony. They look fake because they are so elegant and tall. Nepal is definitely a true sign of God and the awesomeness of His handiwork.
As this month draws to a close I simply say a prayer for this ministry and blessing over the country of Nepal.
One more month to go. Ready to shine my light the brightest I can, and finish well.
Here’s to rockin’ it out with my cross out in India! Boom. 🙂
